"Do you give as much energy to your dreams as you do to your fears?" — Unknown

I believe it would be an interesting exercise if I could log how much time I’ve spent worrying about things or situations vs. my hopes and dreams in the present and future. I suspect it would shock me how much time I’ve spent worrying about things that never happened.

We live in a world where we are bombarded by negative news. Just turn on your evening news and it’s apparent that negativity gets eyeballs and bad news spreads like wildfire. Climate change, wars, crime, inflation, politics, and environmental health scares are just a few of the headlines we can worry about if we listen to this day after day. Even here on OB, people freak out if we go 3 and out on our first drive, the torches come out and calls to fire our coaches erupt, it’s as predictable as the sun rising.

How do we instead focus on our hopes and dreams and tune out the negativity? I submit we need to tune in less to the news and tune in to what is good and decent in our lives, our Creator, and how we can make a positive impact in our sphere of influence. Rather than shake our fists at the dark clouds, let’s focus our energy in ways that can help others that will make this world a better place and allow our dreams to become a reality.
