“We are not what we know but what we are willing to learn.” - Mary Catherine Bateson

Question: Will total understanding ever bring us peace?

Our Creator tells us to trust in Him, not in our own understanding. We seem to have an insatiable need for trying to figure all things out in order to gain a sense of control over our lives. But this world presents us with what seems to be an endless series of problems. We may master one problem and received a short lived sense of relief, and then another challenge pops up.

We tend to seek mastering each problem on our own instead of seeking the wisdom of our Creator. The wisest man who ever lived (Solomon) was never able to think his way to peace. His vast understanding led to his feelings of pointlessness. He finally lost his way; yielded to his wives by worshipping idols.

Our Creator’s peace is not an unobtainable goal hidden from us. We can always be enveloped in peace by being in His presence. As we look to Him, we can gain a peace beyond all understanding.

I wish you peace.
