"Every man dies. Not every man really lives." - William Wallace
If you have never seen the movie Secondhand Lions, I highly recommend it. It is a story about two old men who had to raise a young boy whose mother dropped him on their front porch. Warning…bring your Kleenex.
The video below isn’t really a spoiler, but the quote above reminded me of this movie. These two old men, if you look at them from the outside, you will think they weren’t qualified to raise this young boy, let alone had anything to offer him. However, these grumpy old guys had lived an incredible life and had much to give the young lad.
Sometimes as we get older, we may think we have little else to offer the world and get stuck in neutral and just survive day to day. However, if we open our eyes and our hearts to those around us, we will see opportunities to really live a full life of purpose, even if previously we just worked our days like a gerbil on a wheel leading nowhere.
My hope for you on this day is for you to use that secondhand lion chance to make a difference in someone else’s life, which will help you REALLY LIVE.
God bless you all!
