“The jealous are troublesome to others, but a torment to themselves” – William Penn

I’m going start this TG off with a definition of JEALOUS:

Feeling or showing envy of someone or their achievements and advantages.

"He grew jealous of her success"

Feeling or showing suspicion of someone's unfaithfulness in a relationship.

"a jealous boyfriend"

Are you jealous of anyone?

I’ll admit, growing up I had a problem with jealousy. I thought of myself as a pretty good athlete, but when I moved to a new city in Ohio, I quickly realized I wasn’t the best athlete at my school like I was in my former small town in Connecticut. I was jealous of our high school starting quarterback. He was bigger and faster than me. I had to…over time, come to the realization that some people were gifted with more athletic talent than I had. Once I came to this conclusion, I found places to use my athletic gift in other sports like track and field.

Our Creator tells us that we all have our own special gifts. Rather than be jealous of other’s gifts, we should strive to admire them, celebrate them, and recognize that we have our own talents that we should share with others.

My encouragement to you is to be content with your gifts and don’t hesitate to share them with those within your influence.

Proverbs 14:30, Ecclesiastes 4:4-11, James 3:16
