“The remarkable thing is, we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.” - Charles R. Swindoll

In my almost 62 years of life I have met all kinds of people, relatives, friends, employees, co-workers, strangers, clients, acquaintances, and OB members. I’ve noticed patterns of attitudes amongst these different groups.

I have relatives who I can predict how they will react to certain situations. When faced with adversity, one will react negatively while the spouse will react with a glass half full response. I’ve had employees that no matter what happened would find something wrong to complain about while others showed the exact opposite for the same situation. I’ve had friends and clients whom if I gave them a million dollars, they would complain about what denomination of the bills they were given.

I have no illusions about maintaining a positive attitude; there are days where I wake up with a bad attitude and if I’m honest, those days don’t go well for me. What sadden me are those who wake up EVERY day like that, how do they get through life?

My guess is they base their attitude on circumstances rather than thinking about what opportunities each day brings to the table. They choose to base their attitude on what they don’t have instead of what they do have at that point in time.

My wish and prayer for you who are reading this is for you to start each day with an attitude of gratitude and see what opportunities are ahead of you instead of missed opportunities that are behind you.
