"In order to understand the world, one has to turn away from it on occasion."
~~~~~~~~~Albert Camus
On Thursday of this week, we will observe the first of the three big Autumn and Winter holidays. Each has its own rewards, its own unique character and purpose, but as the first one blends into the next and the next, they combine to create a "busy-ness" that can be overwhelming. That's a good time to remember that there's nothing wrong with a little solitude, a little peace and quiet. The late and wonderful Audrey Hepburn once remarked that it didn't bother her at all to be alone in her apartment from Saturday to Monday, because she "needed that time to refuel."
Maybe you do too. We need to know ourselves well enough to recognize that need, and to honor it. We won't be very good company to family and friends if we've let our well of good cheer run dry. The same may also be true for our family members, and we should give them this same freedom. Without a little rest and solitude, neither we nor they can truly be ourselves.
Pace yourselves, Lady and Gents, and be of good cheer. Blessings to you all, and for the Boss, @dippydawg a continuous prayer for healing and health.
Peace,
NT
