To Live As Long As Life Lasts

Inspired by a photo @sri saw while visiting the Hiroshima War Memorial

There’s a difference between living and existing.

When we exist, life is boring, colorless, and anything but enjoyable; it’s painful. It feels as if that light at the end of the tunnel is a huge train rushing towards us. It’s hard to find a solution to an easy problem no matter how small, and impossible when it’s a large one.

When we live, life is full of love and joy. Yes, there may be troubles along the way, but we don’t let these “inconveniences” take over our life. Where possible, we find a way to solve the problem quickly and put it behind us. When there is no solution, i.e., an incurable illness, or a solution that is difficult to find, we look for the hand that is reaching out to help and grab hold. If we’re “living,” we know that today’s problem is little more than a bump in the road, a hiccup,

The lady whose photo inspired this message was 51 years old when she suffered unmeasurable loss as a result the bombing of Hiroshima, but she didn’t let that destroy her. She chose not to exist, but to live, and lived for many more years. She was well into her 80’s when the photo was taken.

We need to Live while we can because our time on this earth is not very long so my question to you is what choice will you make? To Live or to Exist.

Today’s Gift is dedicated to @alrein and all who are battling cancer and have chosen to Live as long as Life lasts.

Blessings and love,
Mrs. T-Sipper1972
