A strong healthy tree can grow tall and straight on its own, but a weaker tree must lean on the trees around it for support, at least for a time. Same for us; when we experience weakness, we need to lean on others for support.
At times, we all need help, and at other times, we've been the person someone else could lean on. But the best kind of help that we can get (or give) is the kind that enables us to do without it. Relationships flourish when both the helped and the helper can stand on their own.
Today I pray that we have the ability to give the right kind of help.
