Healing With Time Is Like Watching Paint Dry

Have heard that saying all my life, but never truly knew what it meant until recently.

Back in early December, 2024, I damaged every ligament in my left knee and strained my hamstring and calf muscles. For several days I couldn’t put any weight on that leg and was forced to use a walker to get around.

My options were to wait until my knee healed on its own and maybe use a walker or cane for the rest of my life or physical therapy. I was already in P.T. because of a back issue so if the focus was changed to my knee, I would, hopefully, heal faster.

At times in life everyone is faced with an issue that could dramatically affect the ability to have a happy, productive life. We can do nothing and hope things will improve, or we can take action and ask for help. While asking for help may not result in a quick resolution to the problem, it will improve the possibility for success. We simply have to be willing to put in the work.

It’s been over 2 months since I injured my knee, and while it may seem like I’m watching paint dry, every day is less painful and easier to get through. I just have to keep pushing forward and continue at home with the exercises I’m doing in P.T. In time I will be better.

Blessings and love,
Mrs. T-Sipper 1972
