Aside from the typical Trump style bragging, he just told the World Economic Forum live via satellite that he invites the world to begin building their products in the United States and if they do, they will get a 15% tax rate (unheard of). He also said, "If you choose not to come the the US to make your products, that is your perogative, but, you will pay a tarriff to import it."

The use of the carrot and stick while addressing every business leader in the world has the potential to do the following:

  • Increased Domestic Investment:
    • A 15% corporate tax rate is highly competitive globally, and businesses may find it more financially advantageous to relocate or establish manufacturing facilities in the U.S. to benefit from this lower rate.
  • Job Creation:
    • More companies producing in the U.S. would lead to increased employment opportunities, particularly in manufacturing and related sectors.
  • Boost to Economic Growth:
    • A higher level of domestic production could stimulate the economy, as more jobs and investment can lead to increased consumer spending and further business growth.
  • Enhanced Trade Position:
    • Tariffs on imports may encourage businesses to reassess their supply chains, potentially reducing the U.S. trade deficit by decreasing reliance on imported goods.
  • Global Competitive Edge:
    • With one of the lowest corporate tax rates, the U.S. could attract foreign direct investment (FDI) from companies looking to capitalize on the favorable tax environment.
