Tulane/OU

Woody...I like you as a poster and I know where you are coming from, but an ugly win is very survivable if it is early in the year. I give you points for pointing out that much of the invite to the CFB is popularity...".give em the old razzle-dazzle"...so to speak. UT got jobbed on that in 2008.
No doubt about it as long that ugly win/loss happens early. You're allowed to build yerself back up of course, we've done it many times. I wasn't impressed at all with today's game, who wasn't expecting a 77-0 beating? My hat's off to the green wave, scrappin sumbitches. It's obvious we've work to do. Good luck today brother. 😁

OU posters, your game that was moved to your own home field against Tulane, say again, Tulane, one more time, Tulane, was one drive away from…well, you know. Don’t tell me your sphincters weren’t puckered. Looks like it’s going to be an interesting season.

A lot of teams struggling with teams you figured they would bear this week

UNC lost to Va Tech
Oregon struggled with Fresno
OU with Tulane
Ohio state didn’t look great

Yeah, well we'll see. 10/9. And for the record, Yes, I was puckered today and probably won't be able to shit for a week. Worst opening day in my lifetime. But a win is a win. See you guys soon.

Well….that was a shit show.

The positive is we won. And it’s only one game. The negative is we got completely and in every way manhandled at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball for 3/4 of the game. Not sure how much of that can be fixed.

I bet we see marked improvement next week when we play Western Carolina, home of the Fighting Chiapets or whatever they are. And Sooner fans will be back on message boards screaming about the CFP, and completely erasing the prison raping we took up front by Tulane.

I will say this….Tulane’s QB looked good. Like, very good. Very gutsy, tough, smart. He outplayed Rattler by a mile.

2005 ring a bell? We got waxed by TCU then. Or 2009, losing to BYU and losing our Heisman trophy-winning QB?

To me, those are worse opening days.

Well mine wasn't puckered and I'll tell you why. We're in the SEC now so I'm counting the Bama blowout of Miami as a win for me too. So if OU doesn't make the title game I'll be on the conference allegiance bandwagon and be pulling for Bama or whoever represents the SEC.. Some of you need to lose the Big 12 mentality. Now I understand why Aggie has been so high on the SEC bro league.....it just makes you feel better.

Rattler is a true sophomore. ...Colt had his worst year as a sophomore....I wouldnt make an opinion on his future just yet. Fact is....every QB not named James Street had a bad game sometimes...
I didn’t see this game. Colt had a bunch of NFL OL guys his freshman year who graduated that year and spent his sophomore year running for his life behind the harbinger of Mack going to sleep on recruiting.

I would encourage everyone to head over to Texags and thank them for “our” victory over Kent St. I’ve used up my posting allotment for today over there but it’ll drive them insane guarantee.

Check all my previous posts. I have held firmly this was going to be a walk away win. But I like the wink emoji. Are you gay?
What the hell boy! Now, I've had my fair share of attempts by yer persuasion in my lifetime but never would I have expected it on a cfb sports board. I might suggest you read the bible unless it's already been revised for yer kind. Ask yer mother. And don't call me dad.

😉

I agree those were horrible opening days brother but, we layed down for Tulane yesterday, frickin Tulane?

Humbleness. A virtue not often seen from a sooner. oU isn’t anywhere near a #2 and we are far from a #21. Next week will tell where we really stand. Meanwhile cupcake round two for oU. W Carolina just moved up from 6A didn’t they?

Even with all the burnt orange in my veins the only thing that can derail OK is if one of their rbs gets injured. I don't know how somebody like OK could end up with 2 scholly rbs but it could hurt them if one of them can't play especially Kennedy Brooks.

I didn't see the game but OK's ol is so good but you said Tulane dominated them? Seriously? Tulane can do that but somebody like TX can't? But if we finally have a good coach maybe TX can finally turn. this RRR thing around.

Yeah OU’s Strength of schedule is gonna be a problem come playoff committee time. They are basically keeping their fingers crossed that Texas and Iowa state are both highly ranked when those games come around.

1) It’s Western Carolina. Everything posted after this statement is said with relevancy toward that opponent.

2) We did what you should do when playing a completely outclassed/manned opponent. We didn’t make mistakes, and really that’s all you can take away from this game. It gave our players a free scrimmage to go out and execute pretty flawlessly, and they took advantage of that.

3) Tulane just did the same thing. They played Morgan State, who was also outclassed/outmanned by Tulane. And Tulane led 52-7 at the half. It’s STILL only week two, but Tulane may end up being a good win at the end of the season.

4) OU will maul Texas if Sark starts/plays/dresses out Hudson Card. I worry about beating Texas if he plays Casey Thompson. I didn’t say that in August, but I am now.

The season is lost. Let's start there.

The bigger picture aside from the culture that exists at Texas is that our coach can't evaluate qb talent or the poor conditions that Texas qb's have to operate in. If he were competent, he would have discerned from last year's tape that our oline is a fvcking disaster hence the need for the most experienced mobile qb that can make chicken salad from shit samwitches.

Don't fool yourself, ou will have at least 2 losses this year. Might as well give bama the trophy, there's no one close to them.

Oh, I don’t necessarily disagree about OU. I just mentioned one possible loss above depending on who Texas starts at QB.

Going undefeated all season long is a pretty rate thing. OU’s had better teams than this one not accomplish that.

But there isn’t a team on our schedule that I don’t think we shouldn’t beat. We’ll be the favorites against the rest of our schedule. There’s no team that we’d have to have extraordinary effort to beat. Play as we can (avoid silly mistakes/penalties/turnovers), and we should win.

Can’t say I disagree. I think Sark was looking at raw skill sets, NFL caliber arm, throw accurately on the run, Mac Jones kinda guy but Card ain’t ready yet. Going to have to revert back to the guy who is the better gamer. Casey may not possess the raw skills but it seems to me he brings more excitement to the position. Easy to say when the game was basically already over but he definitely brought something different.

I take it you didn't watch UT's bowl game last year? Casey didn't play anywhere near as well yesterday as he did in their bowl game.

We have 2 midget rb's behind our 2 starters that are pretty salty. OU will be fine this year at rb imo.
