Twitter isn't being kind to our Horns

SEC fans are also having a field day bashing Texas. But not all is lost. You will get to play Vanderbilt once every 8 years, so there's that.

As they should. Texas football is a joke. It's only going to get worse with more embarrassing losses once Texas is in the SEC. If CDC were smart, he would put off the move to the SEC for as long as possible.

Nah. If you're gonna lose you might as well lose to a good team instead of the TCU, osu, Baylor & Kansas states of the world.

That's right, we've entered into moral victory mode.

That's the National Champions in Basketball Baylor Bears sir! Can't wait for the game in Waco in 2 weeks - the Baylor OLine was as dominant has I've seen since the Teaff era yesterday. And as you boys have noticed - UT is going to get everyone's best shot on the farewell tour.

Baylor is going to smoke Texas.

Texas has choked the last two weeks. But there is enough talent there that got them in a position to choke. If your cup is half full - they are good enough to win out, they just have to play all 60 minutes. Sark's biggest challenge is going to be not losing the team.

IMO the glass is half empty. I don't have any inside info, but I would think that there has to be some sentiment within the team of the season being over and guys losing interest and not giving max effort going forward.

Time to process the quitters off the team. This is how it happens, Sark cuts playing time and signals that player "x" has no future on the team. Player "x" transfers....... He needs to do this now.

Yeeeeeaaaahhhh about that. Texas doesn't require anyone's best shot to be beaten, half a$$ will get it done these days.

Yessir, Baylor is defending NC champs in BB and we are jealous. The one thing we have left to hang out hat on is historic brand recognition, and that's rapidly slipping away.

I think it takes an awfully sad and small person to feel better about someone else's misery than they do about themselves. Definition of insecurity. OU fans may find this hard to believe but there will be a time when they will struggle and UT rises. It always happens. So just enjoy your success for now and hope you can sustain it. We'll be back.

OU Sucks.....Always!

Time to bench the seniors then if that is the case. Play the youth...they will at the very least try and make a name or themselves

Well, hell… you know you’re team is doomed when even your moderator has given up on your team.

Lighten up, Francis. 😉

I just saw that UTSA football is currently ranked higher than UT. First time in school history.

The hits just keep on coming.

And deservedly so. Coach Traylor has done an outstanding job at UTSA. He's going to get a lot of interest from other schools after this season.

Can I be a voice of reason?

Texas, after hiring a new coach because your last one was an idiot, and after having to change QBs after game three, has lost to the #2 and #8 teams in the nation in successive weeks.

Yes, you were leading by a lot and couldn’t close out the win in the second half of either game. But you had the lead. In both games. Against two of the better teams in the nation. With a new coach and staff. And a new QB.

Arkansas is still inexplicable, but it’s not like you didn’t have your moments there either.

Bijan is still the third leading rusher in the nation currently (I think 3rd, going off top of my head right now). You have a bye week to lick wounds, heal up, and get ready for the season.

My gosh man, you all need to look at the bigger picture. Guess how many combined losses the teams that have beaten you have? Not many. You’ve lost to some pretty good to very good teams.

Most of you expected 4-5 losses this year in my thread at the beginning of the season. Four or five losses. That’s still manageable. The fact those came to different teams doesn’t mean you weren’t correct about your expectations for this team.

Thank you for a respectful and mature take, Micco. It's emotional with Longhorn fans enduring a beat down by Arkansas and collapses against OU and OSU after having big leads. If the games were close, hard fought and Texas was doing things right, it would be more encouraging, but that's not the case.

So many things to be disappointed in. The OL, tackling, inconsistent QB play, lack of conditioning, not closing out games, all which have been prevalent for the last 10 years regardless of who the coach is. It's hard to be enthusiastic and optimistic about the Texas football program. Is it baseball season yet?

OU is a paper tiger. OSU is hot garbage.

When you have a team down, ANY team, you step on their neck and you choke them the fvck out.

We can't do that because we lack a killer mind set.

I disagree with this take. OSU returned something like 9 starters from a really good defense from last season. Their offense is hot garbage though so we can agree there.

OU on the other hand with a good QB is pretty damn good football team. I wouldn't be surprised if they both make it to the CCG.

Clob......how does he change the mindset? Do you think he has the capability to change the mindset? Does that come by running several players to the portal and picking up in the portal?
I've never been in a college athletic program so I'm curious as to if you think you can change it with current players or if it takes some dismantling......

Look-- you can create someone with a mindset that dispatches the enemy without passion or prejudice and then goes and eats a Denver omelet with a double stack of pancakes. They never get too emotional and see crushing the enemy as "part of the job". Get @GuaranteedFresh! In here. I'm sure as a kid Fresh didn't sit around spanking his ham to thoughts of shooting dudes in the face or dropping a guided missile on some dude driving a Toyota truck with 4 fellow enemy combatants in the back.

But he was taught how to possess the mindset of a "professional" that was performing his job. But doing that take years. We don't have years.

Kids that are hyper-competative and truly ENJOY pulling the wings off wasps, or clipping the stinger off a scorpion-- you develop that mind set when you're young. You don't walk around kicking dogs or tossing cats into the lake-- But you damn sure enjoy tinkering with the vermin that mother nature creates. Do you root for the mouse, or the rattle snake when you watch nature shows? I root for the rattle snake. But then I exact my revenge against the snake on behalf of the mouse when I run into a snake.

Does that make sense? Probably not.

Oh it does. I work with all the levels of kids (elem, middle, and high school). I was just wondering if there is a way to change the mindset without changing the faces. I talked a college coach the other day that said his opinion that the Texas locker room was a lot like Herman......cocky for no reason. He felt they had to force kids out to the portal and find some kids with big ol chips on those shoulders and get after it. Just not sure how long Sark will get before they move on to the next coach and I like the guy I see on tv and how he talks about football.

Pretty sure the whole culture at UT and in Austin works against that. Not sure a football coach can change that.

It doesn't help. When people wave around dildos and tell white people they are the devil and preach that black people are "owed" things by Whitey McCrackerson-- it leads to division. Don't believe me?

How many people do you know that fought in Nam? How many of them were excited when they hot to come home? Once they came home and saw the division between the people here, how many of them were able to function properly?
Divide

Then

Conquer

Our school is divided and our flagship program is being conquered regularly.

They can and must. There is no other option. Briles did it at Baylor and Schneider did it at KSU

I'd rather lose every game than to sink to Briles level. Schneider didn't have near the culture problems we have. He had a geography problem and worked the Jucos to find tough guys. I don't think Sark would last too long if he starts taking a bunch of Juco transfers. Look around, half the people on this board are going to be pissed when he doesn't land land Arch Manning and some 5 star offensive linemen.

The only point being that Sark or any other coach will have to figure it out and do what must be done. No excuses of “but this or that”. Just effing do the job and meet the expectations. Schneider did it his own way and Briles did it his own way. There is not just one way of doing it. Briles hasn’t gotten the credit he probably deserves. He had a mean tough streak that got players to play with attitude after being in the gutter forever. It wasn’t the scandal that brought Baylor up. It was his coaching and attitude.

I'm not going to be pissed- because Arch Manning isn't coming here. Period. It isn't happening.

Arch is more likely to go play for David Cutclifffe at Duke (Peyton calls him the best QB coach ever) than he is to go to Austin.

It just ain't happening, folks.

This is a business decision for the Mannings-- and right now, business in Austin ain't good.

Regardless of who the coach is, I don't think Texas will ever be elite again. 7-5, 8-4 or 9-3 in a good year. Own it. Embrace it. Accept it as the norm. Lowered expectations lead to lower aggravation and stress levels.

They need more Scarface and less Lil Nas x in the locker room, that I can tell you.

Went through mediocrity from 1980-2000 then went on a pretty good run. I'm sure around 98 or 99 there were a lot of fans thinking the same thing then along came VY and then Colt McCoy. Never say never. My expectation levels were lowered after the Charlie Strong years.

Texas played for a Natty in 1983, Won 3 or 4 conference titles in the 90s.
This 2010s was much worse than both.
