Twitter isn't being kind to our Horns

Texas played for a Natty in 1983, Won 3 or 4 conference titles in the 90s.
This 2010s was much worse than both.
Sorry weevil, but for me personally 1984-1993 was 10 whole years of what we had under Strong's 3 years or worse. Herman at least had winning seasons with very good bowl wins. The 1990 season was the only exception, but that one ended in disaster by the Miami beatdown. I don't feel as bad about our current program after remembering those horrendous years.

Sure there were a couple good seasons mixed in there but when you look from 84-99 we had 7 seasons either at .500 or below. I think it was the 94 season we won the conference with an 8-4 record and 4-3 conference record.

The only point being that Sark or any other coach will have to figure it out and do what must be done. No excuses of “but this or that”. Just effing do the job and meet the expectations. Schneider did it his own way and Briles did it his own way. There is not just one way of doing it. Briles hasn’t gotten the credit he probably deserves. He had a mean tough streak that got players to play with attitude after being in the gutter forever. It wasn’t the scandal that brought Baylor up. It was his coaching and attitude.
THIS X 100. There is a story about an Offensive Tackle named Jason Smith. Smith was contemplating turning pro early, and the BU program sucked, so why bother? He was projected as a 3rd or 4th round pick. He wanted a meeting with Briles to get advice, and Briles had just started at BU. Briles told Smith to meet him in the weight room. Briles doled out his thoughts ... while pumping iron. Smith said he figured if his 50+ year old coach was tough enough to still be lifting, then he was the guy and Smith stayed. End of the story - Smith was the 2nd player picked in the next year's draft. Say what you want about Briles, but he was tough as nails.

BTW - give Sark at least 1 full season before throwing him out. He's working with a backup QB, and a substandard O line. I don't know that he is Saban, but I think he will be ok.

2010-2020

4 losing seasons, no conference championships, 1x played for conference, 1x played in major bowl

78 wins
60 losses

7-5.5 per year

1984-1993

4 losing seasons, 1 conference championship, 1x played in major bowl

62 wins
50 losses
2 ties

6-5 essentially

Only difference in 2010-current is we got an extra win vs. a shitty NM State or Rice.

From 84-93 Texas didn't get the extra shit game. Well, they got North Texas 2x, but I guarantee you that Texas played twice as many ranked non-conference opponents from 84-93 than from 10-20

Off the top of my head, we played Penn State, Auburn, Syracuse, Colorado and Oklahoma in non-conference. I'm pretty sure every single one of those teams were ranked when we played them...both times.

I said my piece last week. Tack on poor qb play, and that's why we lost to the #9 team in the nation. Nothing else has changed-- o-line still lacking and no defensive depth. I like that Casey isn't giving up his spot just because he's injured, which I believe led to some of his mistakes-- he waited behind sam for years, it looked like the job would go to card, then when he got his chance he isn't gonna let it go easily. I like the mindset.

Having said all that... Y'all are just a bunch of women sometimes. I'm assuming your genders based on your comments.
