Would you agree with this assessment...Texas has more upside in a game than A&M does, but A&M has been more consistent throughout the year?
I agree they looked pretty bad last night. But I, and probably a lot of others, had them beating Texas in my bracket had Texas advanced.
That would have been a fun game to watch, either way.
I would add to this that Texas lost to UNI on a last second, 3/4 court prayer shot that not even the shooter expected to go in. That same team made eleven, count them eleven, mistakes, in 45 seconds, that allowed A&M to come back from 14 points down. They literally could have in bounded the ball and held it for ten seconds before being called for a foul, four times in a row, and won the game. A&M and Texas were both decent teams, the only difference is A&M's record was better because of the conference they play in.I'd say something closer to the opposite.
aggy has a very deep, talented, and experienced team that would not have lost as many games as it did if it had a technically competent head coach. Texas grew impressively from the beginning of the season, stumbled when it lost its best player to injury just before the conference slate, reinvented itself and stole several games it should not have won (WVU twice and Baylor -- the latter being an absolutely terrible matchup), generally showed well in defeat, and then stumbled late when plantar fasciitis took away the greatest strength of its remaining best and most important player. Considering the individual adversities Texas faced, the team was pretty consistent, and variance from expectations was more often positive than not. aggy, on the other hand -- facing no obvious adversity, very much unlike Texas -- looked occasionally dominant, dropped a number of games against bad teams in a terrible basketball conference, and, later in the season, frequently looked mediocre against teams it should have run out of the building.
For someone familiar with the context, I'd say Texas should look more consistent. aggy, under direction of a competent head coach, should have consistently looked like a possible Final Four team instead of one that spontaneously shat its pants in the latter part of the season.
Love the we could have beat you because we played them closer thought. Rich in thinking. We already beat you by double digits. Scoreboard.Lose to a team by 14------ that we crushed once, and lost on a last second shot on the other..... ya aggy, you reeeeeaaaaaalllllllyyyyyy wish you'd of played us....
true but not many teams continue to fight like A&M did. I'll note it was a disaster for UNI but I'll also credit A&M for the pressure they turned on when all hope was gone. We beat every team we played from the Big 12 by double digits but OU so don't think the being in the SEC crap holds water here but knock yourself outI would add to this that Texas lost to UNI on a last second, 3/4 court prayer shot that not even the shooter expected to go in. Lol. Just so I understand this correctly, A&M crushed the Horns in the Bahamas, beat the team that knocked them out of the tournament, went 4-1 against the Big 12...and you guys got stiffies watching A&M lose to OU in Oklahoma City (a team the Horns ALSO lost to in OK)?
Welp, this is where the rivalry is apparently.
Very dishonest assessment of that game. They won by 11 and the game was competitive and that was with us having a brand new coach early in his first season. Regardless, the rematch would've been better for UT.A&M crushed the Horns in the Bahamas...
Maybe you should step out of the closet....and you guys got stiffies watching A&M lose to OU in Oklahoma City
I love chicks in chaps.........
Because you're obnoxious and unlikeable and you refuse to go away like you promised. Hope that helps. But we don't matter, so why do you waste time on us...
Still have my popcorn waiting for Strong to take you to the show like you guys said he would. We played you guys early yes, but then you started falling apart late in the season and early exit in the dance. What part of that makes us fear you late in the season?Congrats on having the extreme fortune of playing against Shaka's team very early in his first season. Enjoy the pinnacle of aggy success in basketball. You're going back down where you belong, while Shaka will be taking Texas to new heights. Grab some popcorn and enjoy the show.
Why, because he's an "undesirable" right, Doc?Still have my popcorn waiting for Strong to take you to the show like you guys said he would.
Hindsight being 20/20 with regard to basketball (we both know where I've stood in the past with regard to football)- we have a first year coach. Then we do a China visit because our former AD was an idiot and basically forced us to play 9000 miles from home, only to be followed up right after with a trip to the freaking Bahamas. Don't know about you but globetrotting in that magnitude effects your sleep cycle as well as your brain and body. Now that's no excuse for how poorly we played against you, but it's certainly a factor. Anyone saying otherwise is just arguing to hear the sound of their own voice.Still have my popcorn waiting for Strong to take you to the show like you guys said he would. When you're a hammer, everything looks like a nail. Why, because he's an "undesirable" right, Doc?
Nope....just a few posters I can count on to bring certain elements to the front of the discussion. And do their best to keep them bumped. Regardless of the topic. So I respond to an aggy on the Longhorn site disparaging the UT football coach and I'm the instigator/attacker/bad guy? Just trying to get inside the mind of an honest ag.
help me out here.....when the aggies get together for a group nut squeeze do they squeeze their own nuts or do they make like some kind of "daisey change nut squeeze and grap their buddies nuts?
