Things not looking so well for charlie , down 17-0 in the 1st . Players looking asleep and very familiar...

finally got on the board. I am so stoked to see the team TH buts on the field next saturday. I hope to see a physical and mean Texas team again.

Looks like USF finally waking up with 10 min left in the half. Still 21 point favorites and one of the most explosive qb's in the country and struggling hard.

uSF has no business being ranked especially with strong as their coach. I should turn it on. Be funny to watch all of strongs coaching blunders following him to his new school.

A team that won 11 games last year and returns their stud QB shouldn't be ranked? They very well may be the best "group of 5" team.

Strong didn't work here for a number of reasons. Some his doing and may not. He will probably do well at USF and will probably get another power 5 shot some day. Wouldn't be suprised if he does well wherever that is as well. Despite it not working here he's a solid coach.

Luckily strongs qb will carry him the rest of this game and a lot this season, but we see the same mannerisms on the sideline with charlie in this game. Lost, scratching his head and pumping his arms .

Cry me a river about your boy strong. He sucked here because he's a lousy coach. I bet you are hoping herman fails here too.

Most coaches are "carried" by their QB. Herman will like succeed or fail based on how Shane or whoever he starts at QB plays.

I dont agree but its a valid argument. What i meant is he will have a qb that is explosive and will help him get by with sloppy starts and bad game planning. I do agree that most successful teams have a good qb behind the wheel though.

You are probably correct about his qb bailing him out. That qb he has makes a lot of plays kind of like Bridgewater overcoming Strong and Watson's ineptitude long enough to make Strong look like a good coach.

Exactly. Strong will win 2 or 3 games that he would have lost here because of the qb on that team.

You don't agree that most coaches live and die by the QB they play?

no i dont agree that a good qb is all that can bail out a bad coach. I think a great D can always save a coach and or a bad game plan.

I think that used to be true. In today's college game where you gotta put up 48 points to even have a shot at winning defense has become less of a factor.

Keep making a jackass out of yourself man.
Typical Aggie response. Resort till insults when you have no valid point to support your argument. Strong had 3 losing seasons and couldnt beat Kansas and was shutout by ISU and you still thought if he had a 4th year he would have 'gotten turned around'

Tell that to saban. His qbs have been good yes but most of them avg or above avg. Anyways all i can say is im glad i dont have to watch CS on the sideline this year and cant wait to see what Herman brings/has.

Even Sabah has adjusted a bit. He knew he had to open the offense up a bit. That's why he hired Kiffen and went with a potential explosive guy like Hertz over his typical gsme manager types

So now I'm an Aggie fan? I've been a longhorn fan since I was 10 years old and I was born in Texas.

I don't hope Herman fails I think he's a fine coach. My only complaint is it felt like a forgone conclusion for two years he was gonna end up the HC at Texas. Not sure that's the best way to handle a search. Doesn't mean I hope he fails.

Yes I think Strong is a good coach who didn't work here at Texas. There are a number of reasons why it didn't work. Many were his fault and many were not. It quite arrogant of us as fans and as a athletic program to think that all the problems over the last 3 yesrs(and really longer! We're Strongs fault. Not all of them were.

So now that we have that straight like I said quit making a jackass out of yourself.

You get really testy when people point Out strongs shortcomings.

Did he get the coin toss right tonight?

Ryan, you haven't posted since April, and you come on here tonight with your opinions, and if someone doesn't hold the same opinion as yours, you act like a 12-year old. Grow up.

I'm not doing this again with you. You don't get it. You've acted this way in the past and its not going to fly anymore.
I'm seriously asking what did I do that offended you? I stated an opinion and I was replied with basically hey Strong lover shut up. So I'm seriously asking what did I do that "won't fly anymore"?

Well South Florida did come back to win the game. I really hope it works out for Charlie Strong at USF.

How many assistant coaches did Strong have at Texas? That should tell you something.
That was part of it. He didn't hire the best first staff and that got him in trouble. I think he was on the right track with a staff toward the end but I think the bed had largely been made at that point.

Strong was a bad hire. He was in way over his head at Texas and it sorely showed. Losing to Kansas, KANSAS was the final straw. Thankfully he's gone. I like Texas' chances with Herman.
