Vaughn gone who's next?

Lesson: Don't hire coaches from Ole Miss, they will have got their hands dirty in the past

I didn't see this coming. Sucks! He was a great recruiter and coach. Maybe that opens a spot for Clint Hurtt now?

Maybe that is how the game is played in the deep South.

It is, except Ole Miss was too blatant apparently, not just bag men and boosters but actual direct involvement by coaches and administrators, made it easy for their competitors

Rebels knew they were probably going to eat caught IMO... Byproduct of the cheating arms race

get the guy from stanford

Charlie's DBs play zone. Akina is a man to man guy. Terrible fit. Apparently, this has been in the works long enough that Strong has the replacement already lined up. If Texas has a replacement DB coach already lined up; what does that say about what Ole Miss knew when this leaked out before their big recruiting weekend?

Besides Vance Bedford, how many asst coaches are left from the original coaching staff I know there's no one left on offense.

Brian Jean-Mary and Moorer.

According to Higs there's a replacement lined up.

The guy that will take his place I'm a huge fan of but the school has to announce it

Hook 'em

May mean that the NCAA has the goods and is gonna drop the hammer. Probably ought to post-season ban the whole conference and void all NLIs.

Hook 'em

IsTexas worried he cheated while at Texas? I mean if he cheated at his previous job then why wouldn't he cheat now?

Strong has a solid reputation and unless this assistant has gone rogue, he's gonna follow the boss's lead. Not a strong possibility of wrongdoing at Texas, but it's still best to cut ties. Hopefully NCAA hits Ole Miss hard and it sends a message to the rest of the conference.

Cause our grade risks didn't get in and and the Ole Miss ones he is being associated with did. Also, look at how many big time recruits from Texas Texas missed out on.

No.
I'll never understand why people think UT needs to pay for players to go there. Have you been to Austin? Have you seen the facilities? Women to men ratio? Rivers? Food? City vibe? Hill Country? Just because your school has done it doesn't mean every school out there pays for it's players.

Not to mention UT alumni have more money than Davey Crockett including multiple Billionaires. No dumbass conspiracy theorists who think UT is paying for players ever mention that. If UT were dirty, nobody would ever beat us out for a single recruit. No aggys will EVER address this very simple logic.

I could've kept going and included school prestige and such but it won't matter. I work around aggy being in the Oil and Gas industry so believe me I know.

I guarantee you that if the NCAA hits MS hard with violations they're going to roll on the rest of the SEC and heads are going to roll, and more of their teams will get put on probation. I've always thought the SEC had a don't rat on me and I won't rat on you kind of arrangement with each other.

They're Texas. Don't forget that Mike. So that takes away any chance of impropriety.

"Vaughn, a member of Strong’s original staff at Texas, may have been implicated in the NCAA allegations recently levied against Ole Miss having served as the Rebels’ recruiting coordinator from 2008-11. Strong had this to say of not renewing Vaughn's contract in a statement Thursday evening: “circumstances have put us in a position that we are going to part ways."

Wow, he was the recruiting coordinator at ole Miss? And turns out he has to be let go at Texas because of his breaking NCAA rules at Ole Miss? And you boys are insulting Baylor for bringing Ole Miss over to Houston to play at a neutral site game? Might help them recruit in Houston, huh? Hell, Strong brought a recruiting crook over from ole Miss to help him recruit, for goodness sake.

So, doesn't the NCAA follow the smoke trail on a coach like Vaughn over to UT? I mean, this guy didn't get hired because Strong was gonna help him grow a halo and angel wings once he walked into the 40 acres, now did he? And you boys picked up Strong from Louisville, the bastion of recruiting honesty, right? Seems they been paying hookers and strippers to help their recruiting, huh.

I know you finger pointers and crybabies aren't this naive, right? The fire will soon follow the smoke, right? Does the NCAA forcing Strong to "fire" his db coach of choice make your head coach all clean all of sudden? So how can you give Strong credit for running a clean program when he hires a crook, and then is forced to fire him for improprieties at Ole Miss?

But, hey, you got to use Vaughn's recruiting methods past signing day this year to help you close on some guys, so there's that!

Who said anything about paying the players?
I can read between your lines. See if you really intended on keeping it civil it probably would've sounded like this. Wow! That was a good call by Charlie, don't want to take a chance on this guy doing the samething at UT.
