Some very interesting news regarding COVID has been happening in the background over the last several months. As we all know, Trump initially called COVID the China virus and insinuated that China was behind everything. The Chinese released some data and the WHO and others rushed to defend the Chinese and say that the virus was solely from natural causes. That story died but Trump continued to mention it every chance he could and was ridiculed every time he did it. However, the story doesn't end there.
Over the summer, a post-doctoral student at MIT named Alina Chen and some of her collaborators started poking holes in the data from China that supported the natural cause theory. They showed that the various data sets didn't jive with each other and that the Chinese didn't release key data. They found a connection to some Chinese coal miners with a similar virus in 2012 with samples documented to being sent to the Wuhan Lab. In October, they dropped a ton of data showing a cover-up by the Chinese. They never explicitly claimed a man-made cause for COVID but demanded that WHO investigate. A bunch of high-profile scientists supported their work. Eventually, the WHO was forced to send a team in to investigate. The Chinese reluctantly agreed to let a team in.
Guess what happened today.....You guessed it. The Chinese said that they weren't ready for WHO investigative team to come. They followed it up with tweets that swear its only temporary. We will see.
