After a disappointing 69-84 defeat in their last contest against the South Carolina Gamecocks, Texas goes on the road for a second straight time to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks in Fayetteville
Head Coach Rodney Terry gave credit to the physicality South Carolina brough to the table in their last matchup against them and stated the point of emphasis that they’ve been stressing to the team is simulating that level of physicality into their practice to be better prepared for games such as the one that took place in Columbia.
As far as Chendall Weaver goes, Head Coach Rodney Terry says that he will be ‘out’ for their matchup against Arkansas, states the Staff and Trainers have been treating Weaver’s Hip injury with caution as they don’t want any potential setbacks once he makes his return.
As far as the gameplan against Arkansas, the Staff wants to see their squad set the tone from the jump, they understand how hectic of an environment Fayetteville can be especially against their rival, therefore they’re stressing a tone setting start from the squad while staying on course when they find themselves in difficult spots in that atmosphere.
With just four games remaining, and the pressure keying in on Texas’ Tournament chances, Rodney Terry and his Staff trust this squad to answer the call, deflecting any means of pressure that could instill itself into the Locker Room with an emphasis on how well prepared this roster is for any challenges that present its way, even if it’s a Wednesday night ballgame with massive Tournament implications in Fayetteville.
Just last week, Texas was projected to be in the South (Atlanta) Region as the 10th seed squaring up against the 7th seed Saint Mary Gaels. Now in ESPN’s latest bracketology, the Longhorns are projected to be seeded as an 11th seed in the East (Newark) Region headlined by the Duke Blue Devils:
