Vince busted for DWI

Jeez. Nobody was injured but I can't give a dude a hall pass for actions like these. He works for the university and I'm pretty certain Texas athletics has a relationship with the cab company (they used to) or Uber to prevent such things from happening. No excuse for this.

Yeah, don't shoot the messenger. For some good news, Fozzy being in the Super Bowl ties a UT record for the 11th straight year with a former player in the SB (85-95).

No. Vince getting arrested is 100% Vince's fault.

Just found it curious someone formed an account and the burning issue he wanted to share with his very first post was this negative story.
pretty much some aggie saw this, came over, took time to fill out a account and get a texas sock.....LOL...funny how people are now days. The only way this story would be fun is if he had a blond wig on.

Is there really an excuse for anyone? This country is way too alcohol dependent. Not that I don't go through my fair share of booze, but at least I do it at home and don't get on the road.

On one hand I realize it's a huge revenue generator so I can't trust every arrest. On the other hand you can wait outside any bar and personally witness people getting behind the wheel that shouldn't.

Especially someone in Vince's position (with the University). He needs to use Uber or call a buddy. It is easy for me to sit here and judge though.

What's done is done, he was wrong, no sense in beating a dead horse, he has to figure it out now..by himself!

Of course if he was in collie station, he would've gotten off on several of these like Billy Clyde Gillespie was or their current head football coach.

So it's OP's fault?
He never said that. You are one of the top 3 most negative posters on this board, it seems you like to stir it up.

Vince should have known better. He is supposed to be a role model. I am very disappointed this happened. No excuse for it.

CSPD and Austin PD are both seem very strict and don't care who it is they are pulling over. There is no evidence of either letting someone go after being pulled over for drinking that I know of. Its getting harder for the cop to let anyone go as they have mic and video of everything that's going on and are typically monitored by a supervisor back at the station. If you let a drunk driver go and then they get into an accident someone's going to get fired.

CSPD busted Trocha for suspicion of DWI last week and doesn't even appear he was over the legal limit.

For a first time misdemeanor? Doubtful.
Yeah I wasn't sure how that works these days. I just know that I'm scared to death to get one because I figured it could be used for grounds for dismissal.

It certainly can. I think it can be bad for teachers, or if you try to cover it up. As far as losing your job, your worth to the company probably comes into play.

I was just thinking your insurance under the company goes up and they may deem you a risk etc?

I guess if your job involves driving a DWI will cause those premiums to go up. A DWI may be a death sentence for a driver. Other than that what insurance are you talking about? Health, life?

I didn't know walmart had insurance on its janitors.
Look, he's had some hard times but I wouldn't really refer to him as a janitor at this point. Seems like just yesterday he was predicting he'd be in the hall of fame. Hope he gets it together before it's too late.

VY not as bad as Manziel!

you are right Flourbluff.....but it doesn't make it right for Vince. He is a grown educated man with a good job. He should be smarter than this.

Yes I have driven drunk. I was stupid, stupid, stupid and I regret it......I was never caught but it doesn't make it right. I could have killed someone.

Certainly Its possible but if its fact can you cite a credible source?
If a cop lets a drunk drive on down the road, where exactly would that be documented?

It happened. Believe me. You know it's true too.

All I am saying is that both police departments have made plenty of arrests of players. APD gets credit for busting Garrido. CSPD hasn't cut players any slack, if they have with coaches I have not heard it. I can confirm that Gillispie left local bars many times intoxicated to varying degrees. I also know he has multiple DWI arrests. I have never heard that he was let off by CSPD. As far as Sumlin, don't have anything other than rumors that he drinks, to what extent I'm not sure.
