Multiple sources have told Orangebloods that sophomore RB Chris Warren will miss "significant time" with a reported knee injury suffered versus Oklahoma State in Stillwater.
The timetable we continue to hear is "around six weeks," which -- on the positive side -- indicates a strain or pull of some kind not requiring surgery or invasive procedures. On the negative side, there's only eight weeks of games left on the schedule and "around six weeks" takes up a vast majority of that. In short, there's a legitimate concern that Warren may miss the remainder of the Longhorns' regular-season schedule depending on the progress of his rehab in the coming months.
All sources we spoke to thought it would be almost assured that Warren be available to play in the bowl game should Texas find itself eligible this season.
In the meantime, this will mean an uptick in carries for D'Onta Foreman with a stiffer dose of backup work for both Kyle Porter and Tristian Houston.
