There are way too many agroids in the area. I'm sure the color was some sort of compromise. Don't know that Orange clad George Ranch aggies would have been any better.

I once dressed for work sort of sloppy as to planning and had on a Maroon pull over and a UT Ball cap. I got some strange looks that day. It wasn't and Aggie shirt, just the wrong color with a Burn Orange cap.VT uses close to both colors.
