The Oscar's are tomorrow night and even if you don't go to the movies, or pay attention to the Oscar's try to make an exception for CODA. It's about the only child in a deaf family. CODA stands for children of deaf adults. It is a feel good movie that touches your heart and what's wrong with a feel good movie winning Best Picture? It's on Apple TV. They have a 7 day free trial download it to your phone and then you can watch it on tv and cancel your subscription be before the 7 day trial ends. Watch this movie before tomorrow night and hope that it wins. For whoever cares it will be worth it.

While I don't agree with some of your opinions I myself am frustrated with British movies. If it's about the royal family or a British prime minister it's certain to win. The English garden, the English patient, the English bore, you name it. Example when the movie queen came out before I saw the reviews or the trailers, I knew it Helen Mirren would win best actress.
And CODA isn't about politics. Children like Ruby exist in the real world. That's why I liked it so much. It should win best picture.
The Avengers, Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Ocean’s 11, and on and on and on. None are about politics, but you just about can’t watch anything without some insane woke liberal agenda being pushed. Forgive my negative attitude toward any and all things Hollywood.

I don't care if there are gay, straight, black, Indian, white, trans, gender fluid or whatever in a movie. What I hate is changing an established character or story to inject social political views where it isn't. Just tell a damn interesting story!

The best series I've seen in a long time is The Chosen. Yep, it's a modern telling of Jesus that is done extremely well and this is coming from a non church going person. Shot in Texas and Utah, free to watch on The Chosen app. Funded entirely off of donations so they aren't beholden to Hollywood $$.
They did the same thing to the movie "Cheaper by the Dozen"....remade with a blended family of blacks, Hispanics, gays, etc.

But I am glad that CODA won best picture and the man who played the father won supporting actor. Look 3 of the 4 primary actors in the movie are deaf they weren't normal actors pretending to be deaf.
So it's nice that a happy ending movie won best picture. Unless it's Scorsese I don't like movies with grim endings. So did you like the movie?
Mixed opinion about this but the slap was real.
You have to know your audience when roasting someone and Jada has very publicly struggled with alopecia. Add to that, she's well known for not handling criticism at any level so the joke was going to go over like a fart in church.
If you lead a public life you have to have thick skin.

Nah Will was a puss for doing what he did. That joke was so soft no one should’ve been offended. If she’s that insecure about it she would more than likely wear a wig. She actually rocks that hair or no hair style well. It’s not a life or death issue it maybe embarrassing but a joke about GI Jane which is about a strong ass chick isn’t bad. I have always liked both Will and Chris. I don’t really know who Jada is other than now, I know it is Smith’s wife. I watched about 20min of it with my wife and I saw her. I thought to myself, she is a beautiful woman and just thought the hair was intentional. Will crossed the line, but I still like the dude.
Willy is now a pvssy punk in my view. Plus, Jada has been known to get her jiggy on with other dudes.
