The Longhorns (20-2, 6-1) and the Tigers (12-10, 1-6) are on opposite sides of the SEC spectrum this season. Missouri recorded their 1st conference win Monday against Mississippi State, 78-77, with a buzzer beater by sophomore G Grace Slaughter.

Slaughter leads the team at 14.7 ppg and put up 31 against the Bulldogs. G Ashton Judd (11.6) and F Laniah Randle (11.0) also average 10+ ppg. Missouri is not a great rebounding team (+1.8) and are led by the 5' 11" Randle's 6.2. They do have multiple players 6' 4"+ but...
  • Lucija Milkovic - 6' 6" C - made the last of her 5 game appearances on January 5th and only averaged 2.4 minutes per game
  • Hannah Linthacum - 6' 4" F - all 5 of the games she saw the floor were this month but only for 12.5 minutes per outing
  • Tionna Herron - 6' 4" C - Tree transferred to Mizzou from Texas and has appeared in 12 games (5.4 mpg)
They do have some length on the perimeter with several guards and wings in the 6' to 6' 2" range.

The Tigers average 15.3 turnovers per game and don't force many (+1.2 turnover differential). The Longhorns force 23.5 and average +10.4. The one area Mizzou outclasses Texas is in shooting from beyond the arc. For the season, they have made 160 of their 419 attempts (38.2%) from beyond the arc. The Horns are 73/247 (29.6%).

Shay's struggles from 3 have been commented on repeatedly this season (18/69, 26.1%) - that number is just rough compared to last season (35/93, 37.6%). Hopefully she can put a dismal January (5/23, 21.7%) behind her and get on track. Jordan Lee is 2nd on the team in attempts (52) and leads in percentage (46.2%) followed by Madison (16/37, 43.2%). Take out Jordan and Madison's numbers and it gets U-G-L-Y. 33/158 (20.9%).

Taylor was named the SEC Player of the Week after shooting 69.6% from the field (16/23) and 92.9% (13/14) from the FT line along with 20 rebounds in 2 games.

Missouri has lost by at least 17 points to every ranked team they've played this season and that trend should continue Thursday. Texas is the more talented, more athletic and better coached team.
