WBB: SEC Tournament Thread - #1 Texas vs Miss St or Ol' Miss, Friday, 5:00 (SEC)

The Longhorns will face an 'M' team (Missouri, Miss State or Ol' Miss) Friday evening in the Quarterfinals of the SEC tournament.

15-seed Missouri only won 3 games in SEC play but one of those was a 78-77 victory over their Round 1 opponent, 10-seed Mississippi State, with a buzzer beater as time expired. The Longhorns beat the Tigers 70-61 in Austin.
Mississippi State pushed Texas to the very end in Starkville. The Longhorns trailed 27-26 at the break but Shay Holle scored all 16 of her points (6/8, 4/6 from 3) in the 2nd half to drag her team to a 68-64 win.
Ol' Miss led by 8 points with just under 5 minutes left when they hosted Texas but the Longhorns closed on a 13-2 run to eke out a 61-58 victory. Madison hit a jump shot with 13 seconds remaining and then stole an inbounds pass with 2 seconds on the clock to seal the win.

Considering how the Longhorns really struggled against 2 of these 3 teams, at least the tournament isn't being played in Mississippi. Getting a Top 4 seed (double bye) is massive in a 5 round tournament played over 5 days. Whoever the Longhorns face will have approximately 22 hours between the end of their 2nd Round game and tipoff.
