It's getting pretty tough to keep up with all the recruiting developments and rumors. Buckle up for what is shaping up to be a wild two week spring to National Signing Day.

A few notes while I sit here and watch the Longhorns try to hold on for a win over WVU (NO JINX PLEASE!!!!!) ...

--- If you were on the board earlier, you probably saw my post indicating I had heard early tonight that DT Chris Daniels had decommitted from OU. Pretty much as soon as I posted, Daniels tweeted confirming he's no longer committed.

What's it mean for Texas?

One person I talked to who has been pretty much money of late told me he feels Daniels is leaning strongly to Texas. Another person I spoke with thinks it's UT and A&M that will battle it out and he favored A&M ever so slightly.

This one could come down to the wire, but I do like Texas' chances as of now based on a few things I've heard. UT did an in-home this week and Charlie Strong will be back next week to do h is in-home. Tennessee was in home tonight (don't think they're a factor) and A&M was in home on Sunday. Daniels will visit Tennessee this weekend and A&M on January 29. I like the way this is trending for Texas, but the visit to A&M on the last weekend will be key.

--- The rumor we'd been hearing behind the scenes for about a week was that Jordan Elliott would likely take a "surprise" visit to Texas on January 29.

It turns out, he's planning to come in this weekend. For now. I think Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh is supposed to do an in-home with Elliott tonight. That could obviously change things.

I see this one playing out one of two ways ...

1. Harbaugh talks Elliott out of visiting this week. But Charlie Strong will do his in-home next week, and he talks Elliott back into visiting.

2. Elliott goes ahead with his plan and visits this weekend.

Either way, I fully expect UT to get Elliott on campus, and this one is also trending well for Texas.

--- Nothing official on Obi Eboh, but the longer this one goes on, the better it is for Texas. Most thought he would flip to Stanford during his visit last weekend. The Cardinal apparently made a great impression, but he is still planning to visit UT this weekend. You'll take it if you're Texas.

--- Hearing very good things on where Texas stands with D'Andre Christmas-Giles. And that's on the heals of his LSU visit. Huge.

He'll visit A&M this weekend but I like UT's chances as of tonight.

--- Pretty quiet on the Patrick Hudson visit. I'm hearing through the grapevine that it's going well, but no real details.

The visit will end tomorrow. I should be able to get more info tomorrow night or on Friday.

A few tweets:

--- Dontavious Jackson has a top five of Texas, FSU, Alabama, Florida and Michigan.

This one is pretty much a Texas-FSU battle. For the past couple months, we had been hearing FSU was a big-time player in this one. Things really heated up and FSU was in the driver's seat a few weeks ago when Jackson was planning to go back to Tallahassee for an unofficial visit (with his mother).

What we're hearing now is that things are tilting UT's way. Jackson isn't talking, but I expect him to visit Texas either next weekend or possibly even this weekend. He's scheduled to visit Alabama this weekend, but if he knows in his heart that it's really Texas or FSU, it makes sense that he'd visit this weekend with teammate Chris Brown.

We'll see, but either way I expect him to get on campus before NSD. I've always said that I wouldn't bet on Texas unless he visited again. I now expect that to happen ... you do the math.

--- Still hearing very good things on Brandon Jones. I don't think this one's settled yet, but Texas was the leader going into last weekend and REALLY helped itself on the official visit.

Keep an eye on Baylor. He'll visit there January 29. I'll be surprised if the Bears win out, but from what I'm hearing you can't completely cast them aside. Jones really likes Art Briles, but I still like where Texas stands right now.

--- In case you missed it a few minutes ago, RB Darius Anderson committed to TCU. Texas was hoping to get him on campus January 29 but that appears to be off the table.
