This is true. But it is also true of every high power rifle out there including virtually every hunting model. A typical AR-15 style rifle throws out a .223 projectile weighing approximately 50 grains at about 2800 to 3000 feet per second. A standard 30-06 throws a 150 grain projectile out at about 2900 to 3000 feet per second and will do a lot more damage. You don't even want to think about what a Remington 7mm mag will do.
