Well glory be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I worked OffShore for 10 yrs way back when, I don't like to see people get to lose their jobs, but, you come down to South Texas and see all the new PU's and new homes and boats and other shit and could not pay for them, and lost them all because they over extended themselves, some on purpose and some not working in the Oil Patch is a gamble and they lost, they shoulda looked back at job stability instead of money and all that they could buy...so, now they are on the Welfare row and there is not enough jobs to go around so ya should not have found ya password, the Truth is what it is they shoulda had a plan B and they didn't

absolute pig-ignorance at its worst. Flower boy is so far over the hill, he knows he can rely on Social Security. The vast majority, including those roughnecks he hates so much, have several to many years of work ahead of us.
"ya should have not have ya found ya..." Good Lord...English...do you speak it?

This has become a political thread, and I am feeling overwhelmed by the multiple micro aggressions I am forced to read. I am calling on LonghornMM to provide a safe place with cookies, puppies, and movies with pastoral and/or buccolic content to help get me through this rough period.

Hahahahahahaha! Funniest sh!t I've read on here since an October post by an aggy saying they would win 11 games this year.

In before the MM lock btw.

I don't think it's ignorant at all to say that some folks in the oil industry were enjoying the high life and now find themselves in some trouble. The same thing happened in the tech boom and the housing boom. Folks made a ton of money off of that and lived like it would go forever. It didn't and some people were screwed.

With that said it sucks thst some have lost their jobs and no one deserves to lose their jobs. I do expect oil to eventually come back though. I think you have several things happening. China's economy is struggling so their demand is down plus you have the Saudis holding down the price of oil hoping to drive the us out.

I'm personally in favor of alternative fuel source research. Not just from an enviormental sense but also from a practical buisness sense. We know that one day oil will no longer be an option. We don't know when and although it's probably not tomorrow the country that leads on this is the country that everyone else is coming to. If that's the United States it means jobs for generations. We have gotten in to this rut in this country where we must keep the status que nothing can ever change. That's not how the generations before us operated and that's not how we should either. It's not one parties fault either

I have zero sympathy for anyone in the oil and gas industry. Been gouging consumers for decades just because they could. No better than Phillip Morris in my book. And screw Saudi and OPEC too. Hope they fade away into oblivion.
Do you walk everywhere or ride a bike ? Do you have air conditioning and lights. The private sector provides all these more efficiently and cleanly than any government. Profits make it happen.

Sure, research is good. But politicians shouldn't spend our money on it. George Mitchell made a large fortune even larger with fracking. Same for Westinghouse, Watson, Gates, etc. Make dividends tax deductible to corporations and let the market find a way.
