Well the first CFP is out. Not surprisingly Texas comes in at 7 and that's about right this time of the season.

But here's the kicker. Ohio State jumped Georgia at #1. Maybe Marvin Harrison Jr is the best player in the country. And who has Georgia beaten that was really good?

But you know who's in the catbird seat? Florida State. They don't play anyone that's really good and they can back into the playoffs. And ahead of 4 teams that are better.

And right now it looks like Michigan and Ohio State will be in the playoffs again. Stay tuned.

I don't have a problem with Ohio State being number one. I know this is the first poll. But looking at the top 4 teams I think Florida State and the Ohio State/Michigan winner are in. Ok the Big X has Ohio State and Michigan and Penn State will usually 10 games losing only Ohio State and Michigan. But the rest of the Big X just plain sucks. Look at em. Some of the Big XII teams could beat them especially Kansas State. The ACC? I know it ain't right but I'm enjoying watching Dabo coming apart at the seams.

Ewers was on track for 3k yards and has only had what...3 INTS? Dudes been damn good besides understanding has not a damn rb.

Maalik hasnt really played in what...3 years? 2 1/2? First action and he gets a W.. against a BYU team that always seems to fk us. Kid isn't Ewers or anything but id take him today over Swoopes. He isnt as good as ppl were hyping him up to be and i think If Ewers doesnt come back this year we will lose at least 1 game because of him but for a freshman who has 0 experience. He wasn't GG bad...or Case McCoy...or Jerrod Harris....or Even Sam E his freshman year.


Baxter being a freshman to me gets a pass. He needs a offseason of lifting to let his balls hang.

Oline isn't the only issue on those 4th downs and goal line. Its the play calling is also an issue. But over all the running game has been miles above what most ppl thought it would be losing Bijan. So again a positive. I think we are ONE guard away from a dominate oline next year going into the SEC.

Id say Safety is our weakest position right now.

Pretty damn good assessment. Sark needs to let our best player, Jonathon Brooks, be the heart and soul of this team and win it for us. If he insists on putting the weight of this team on a freshman QB, then he is rolling the dice and will have to answer to it. Even if Quinn wasn’t injured, I think feeding Brooks >20 times would be a good idea.

Even if Quinn wasn’t injured, I think feeding Brooks >20 times would be a good idea.

Run Brooks and hit play action off of it. Best choice my Opinion

Yep. And never quite understood why it took college football to adopt a playoff system. The NCAA basketball tournament is one of the biggest events in the country, and football is the most popular sport in America. A real college football playoff could have been a cash cow years ago.

A HUGE amount of ppl on this threat predicted Texas as a 8-4, 9-3 team.

a HUGE amount of ppl had us losing/ worried about the Bama game, the BYU game..hell even some the houston game. A lot picking us to lose..and We didn't.


we are 7-1. When was the last time you could sit back and say damn. My Horns are 7-1. Becuase i guarantee you didn't have us at 7-1 to start the year on your season predictions.

This. Sadly most want to move the goalpost to fit their narrative in that moment. Most rational fans didn't have us going undefeated this year. Don't get me wrong, I wanted us undefeated ofc but my thinking was 10-2, in the CCG and not in the CFP race. Enjoy that we are watching the best Texas team we have had in a while that we all knew was flawed before the season began.

Could. I hope it also opens up the possiblity of better scheduling too. With a 12 team playoff going 12-0 or 11-1 isn’t as vital. Hopefully everyone can agree to get rid of some of these “buy” games.
