We've been paying attention to the wrong Heisman winner

The NFL season came in with how they were adapting to the spread offense and used BM and KM as the trendsetters. But they got the wrong Heisman winner they should have been talking about Lamar Jackson. LJ won the year before BM (2016) he also played in a spread offense. He was the last 1st round pick in the 2018 draft Mayfield was first. The Browns were a 500 team in his first year and in the off season they acquired Odell Beckham. But the Browns will be lucky to finish 500 again. And as for the Cardinals how's that 3/9/1 record looking Kyler?

On to Lamar Jackson in the middle of his rookie season LJ took the starting job for good. Joel Flacco, a fine qb who led the Ravens to a SB win, was benched and traded to the Broncos. Ozzie Newsome a gm who built 2 Ravens SB teams shrewdly built a team around LJ. He drafted, he signed fa and all of a sudden the Ravens became a playoff team last year and this year they're tied for the best record in the NFL. College fans know what a good running game in a spread offense looks like and now NFL fans do as well. The best runner is LJ he's already set a single season record for 100 yard games by a qb. And Mark Ingram II is having a great season as well. And when he throws it he's got a great arm with a great touch. He's got a phletora of receivers to throw to and although the main threats are sooners those guys can play.

Lamar Jackson is the league's MVP and if he doesn't get hurt the Ravens should be in SB 54. Btw they've got the best run defense in the NFL.

Jackson has impressed. No doubt.

I do find it interesting that the 4 college football playoff teams have the 4 best (non-injured) quarterbacks in America.

Lamar Jackson NOW looks like a complete QB. I think everyone can admit it wasn't always that way in college with him but that guy seems to have it all, right now.

wasn't it always?
But was it? If that is cali's position in all this he does have a point. You mean you don't remember the name of all the starting QBs at Bama that were considered "game managers"? How many of them are in the NFL now? Seriously, this might be the first time that all four play off teams legitimately have the BEST four QBs in the nation.

Hurts is a system QB. He did well at bama, but, so does every other QB. He isn't in the top 10 QBs in America.

Do tell? Am I about to hear the "college football has become a QB league" like so many of my NFL fan friends tell me? Because you might be onto something.

Actually clob94 I was just trying to be funny. I wasn't even trying to make point lol.

Well Jalen Hurts may be a system qb. But in that Baylor game in Nov when OK fell behind. by 25 points he put the team on his back and they came from behind to win. People talk about winning without Cee Dee Lamb. What they don't talk about is that Hurts carried the ball 27x for less than 4ypc. But he kept coming OK kept on converting on 3rd down and even when he fumbled when he should have scored a td he never lost his poise. He's got my respect that's for sure. And on a human being level he's more likeable, actually a lot more likeable, than Mayfield or Murray.

Well, statistically he is a top college QB, but, that is as far as I can go. Remember Baylor's offense didn't score anything and their receiver dropped some critical passes in the 2nd half. Otherwise, Baylor would have won. When he gets run yards, they are through an open hole the size of Texas itself and when he throws a 2-4 yard out, the receivers do all of the work. He gets flustered easier than the average QB and makes bad throws when facing decent defenses.

I can't stand hurts but the dude can play.

How many turnovers did Hurts have each time they played Baylor? He keep them (Baylor)in the game if you ask me.

Well that first Baylor game showed me he has a lot of heart.

As I said earlier-- I can't stand the kid but he can ball. He is without a doubt one of the four best college QBs in the land right now. It may not translate to success in the NFL, but we aren't talking about that right now.

What is it that you don't like the kid clob94? I don't know but compared to Mayfield and Murray he seems like a really good kid.

They also have pretty good defenses, besides OU.
