I'm puzzled. Joe Biden says that never before have the core values of our nation been under such assault. Donald Trump says we need to get the country back to living its core values. "Sooo, everyone wants to protect and defend our "core values." But we fight incessantly about what we should be doing. Are there such things as core values? How can a country so diverse racially, economically, geographically and culturally have "core" values? If we do, what are they. Are they universal, hence "core." Or are they just core to the particular party who is making the claim. Maybe if there were a set of core values and we could all agree on what they are governing would be a little simpler. If not, both parties should just stop with the core values argument.
