As I was in the middle of a long ban from the board at the time, I neglected to share my "wisdom" during those years.
2015 - Joke, PR stunt, not serious, going to make big bucks.
early 2016 - Holy crap, this is unreal, too many good candidates is the problem, once the field is whittled away Rubio or Kasich will be the nominee.
A little later 2016 - Cruz? Not going to happen. Kasich is not gaining traction and Trump just stomped Rubio. Is it possible?
Mid 2016 - This is not really going to happen. The elders at the RNC are going to have a solution. Maybe Mitt, maybe Ryan, something will happen.
Convention - Oh well, this happened. Looks like the Republican party is dead and Clinton will win handily.
Fall - Same thought as convention.
Election night - No thought that he would win. In 2012 I thought Romney might win but had ruled that out in 2016.
Immediate post-election - This is a joke, I suspect he will take the oath so that he can say he was president, and then turn it over to Pence after a couple of months.
Early 2017 - He wants to be the president. There was a Trump 2020 rally either right before or right after the inauguration and I remember laughing to myself due to his age and the fact that there was no way he would really serve four years as president for many other reasons.
A little later - They are going to crucify him. The number of investigations and the amount of potential felonies any owner of a company as large as his can commit unwittingly will doom him. No way he survives the term.
Fast forward to today, there is no way in hell I would have predicted in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, or even early 2019 that in early 2020 we would be entering the presidential campaign with him as a fairly clear favorite.
How many of you have had similar reminders of your own inability to see the future?
