What happens to your stuff after you die if you don't have a will?

Single, 40 year-old here, no children. I've been thinking for a while that I should probably "adult" a little bit and have a will drafted up, for if any other reason, you never know when it's your time.

I have a house, couple of cars, checking/savings/retirement, and just my personal belongings in my house. If I weren't to have a will, what would happen to that stuff if I pass? Does it automatically go to my (only) sister, which is what I would want anyways? Do the places that I have my money with take ownership over it without a direct order that it's to go to my sister? Who would get ownership of the house/cars?

I'm not feeling savvy enough to use one of the DIY websites to do it on my own, does anyone have someone in Austin they'd recommend to assist?
