Argyle TX / DFW
DT x2 Big run stuffing guy
WR x1 The best and fastest guy.
RB Best 3 down back we can land
IOL starter
CB Physical player with speed that can start.
LB Starter
Punter must get. 7-8 guys

I also think 3 current WR will go to the League and 1-2 transfer.

Definitely DT, RB, LB

We have enough quality everywhere else. I guess we’ll know more once we know who will hit the portal and who will opt for the draft. I hope DJ and Cam both stick around.

Dude we are on a nc run the year and you want really talk about 2025 already?

Thumper.

6'2 230 4.5
We need us an AP or Eddie George or Derrick Henry.

You couldn't stop us if we had a thumper- and the dude would average 7-8 yds a pop.
Another Derrick Johnson, Brian Robison, Casey Hampton and Henry Melton would be a good start.

QB - we're good
RB - we should be fine...Blue is terrific as a receiver and all other players getting healthy plus recruits I think we're good
WR - Wingo/Cook/Golden/Moore/Niblett plus the best WR class in the nation...we just need 1 solid dude and we will have the best WR room again
OL - Need to find or develop a center and we need a LT
DL - We definitely need at least one stud here. We have some dudes in the wings just waiting, but we need at least 1 guy. We are set on the edge.
LB - I think we are good here. Hill is back. Lefau is back. Anthony is back. Nice recruiting class. Would be nice to add some experienced depth
CB - We definitely need to add a guy...and we don't have any CBs in this class or at least highly saught after. To me this is the most important position in the off season. We do have Black, Muhammad and Mack back. But that is it. Need upgrades here.
S - Williams, Guilbeau, Taaffe, McDonald all come back and we added some legit pieces in recruiting.

I think Blue will head out and try to make an NFL team, I take one portal SR. I think Cook could be out. I take one top speed guy.
We need a Center and RT. DT we will have 5 leave so we need 2-3 DT that are SR. LB I want 1 SR. CB and I want a Punter and Kicker.

I think at center next year we might see Cole Hutson. Another option at center is Daniel Cruz. I've heard a ton of really good things about him this year and I wouldn't be surprised if he wins that job over. I think they like Trevor Goosby a lot at LT as well. He's got the size, length, and athleticism to an elite LT.

This thread got me wondering about CJ. Are they gonna try to get him a medical redshirt? Is he gonna try to come back next year? If he comes back, will he be right back at it? I’m just pondering the kid’s future.

We seem to be developing our players better these days, especially on the lines. I guess that is what happens when we aren't flailing in the wind and changing coordinators every year. They don't have to learn a new system every off season. I have confidence that the large majority of our high school recruits will pan out when their time comes, that wasn't the case a few years ago.

There's no telling. It's too early. Dude just had surgery a month and a half ago. As we discussed earlier, ligament tears aren't (usually) as difficult to heal as they were 30 years ago. Medicine has changed. But the PCL (the ligament he tore) is the one at the back of the knee. It's a fvcking weird injury and it's not the easiest to rehab.
You've got 4 main ligaments in the knee- the ACL on the front- we all know about those- the LCL or Lateral collateral ligament. The one on the outside of your knee. The Medial collateral-- the one on the inside of your knee- and of course the Posterior Cruciate-- the one at the back.
Usually, you pop the PCL when your knee is forced forward-- bent the opposite way God meant for it to be bent. You can also pop it by hyperextension of the knee. See, the PCL connect the tibia (shin bone) to the femur (thigh bone) and tries to prevent the shin bone from "moving backwards". So it's a weird injury to have and to rehab.
If CJ heals well and is fortunate, he can make a recovery. But there's no guarantees he will still be able to do what he used to do.

We're ranked #1 and why are we talking about this in the middle of the season? The biggest game in the history of the memorial stadium is coming up in 4 days.

Because it is a message board and it doesn't make a shit what we do or talk about in regards to how the team performs. Furthermore, these conversations occur in season with the staff.

It is okay to look at the depth chart for 2025 whilst still in the midst of a 2024 playoff run.

Damn. I didn’t realize it was that bad. I feel for the kid. He’s put his heart into game, so I’ll pray for him to make a full recovery. If he doesn’t ever make it on the field again I hope he’s happy and successful in whatever path God lays before him.

For me, the roster building part of football is always what intrigues me the most. I always enjoy discussions like this one. Lighten the hell up man.

A Chris Warren, but who can actually play football.
I liked Chris. Do you remember the Texas Tech game? I could never figure why Herman would continually trot out Kyle Porter as the start in every game. Porter was a good kid but, he wasn’t really D1 material. He didn’t perform very well at UH either after his transfer. Maybe Warren’s mind wasn’t in the right place for whatever reason. Maybe Herman or maybe other things
