This is probably the biggest U.S. and International crisis since World War II and leaders in major crises often become leaders soon after the crisis is over - Eisenhower, Washington, etc. So who is doing a good job leading this crisis and could leverage that into being a good President?

Hopefully, most people will discount the gang of bumbling corrupt politicians who's sole focus is not to take a stance and only action so far is to add a bunch of unrelated items (including their own raise) to a relief package. Along the same lines, it shouldn't be the ego-maniac political outsider who continually rewrites recent history of not to worry about it and he's got it under control since he's an expert to him knowing it would be bad all along. It definitely should not be the celebrities who are quick to show when to take offense and show their selfishness by hoarding the testing without any symptoms.

My choice so far would be Bill Gates. He forewarned of this crisis years ago and got testing going in Washington state behind the scenes, sparing thousands of lives. He created the first good models to show the effects of waiting too long, convincing governments to take the right steps. He has a lot of post-president Jimmy Carter goodwill characteristics through his foundation and other initiatives. He comes across very humble, willing to work behind the scenes. He is a proven leader as evidenced by building one of the largest organizations in history from the ground up and listening to the right people along the way. I have never seen where he has any political aspirations, but neither did George Washington. Some of the best leaders are those who don't aspire to be.

Hopefully some governors, generals, and others will join this list.
