Clearly TCU one of the best four and should make it. Agree with you given what Duggan had done in the game. Got the ball to the one inch line. Bad spot. Had two shots to make it and Duggan clearly the best option. One of Dykes' few screwups this season.
If only the Committee was consistent. In 2014, they passed on BU and TCU, because neither was the conference "champion.". IF (and a big IF) Clemson wins tonight - how do you keep out a power five, one loss conference champion? Then its down to Ohio State - a one loss non champion whose loss was to the no. 2 team, and a one loss tiny private. We saw this movie before in 2014. It will be interesting to see how this turns out. IF Clemson wins.
TCU is in regardless. I’d bet a lot of money on it. They got screwed though. Miller reached that ball across the plane on that 3rd down.
Clemson lost twice. Alabama ahead of them. No chance Clemson is in. Will be a choice between tOSU, TCU and Alabama. Looks like an easy call.

Plus Clemson plays in a high school conference, with nothing but cupcakes in the OOC schedule, and somehow still managed to lose twice. Not much of a resume.
TCU is not getting into the playoffs folks. The committee is not going to put a team in who lost to a team that choked it away to Tulane. TCU needed to be undefeated. They blew it.
You wanna put some money on that? And that Tulane team is about win their 11th game of the year and their conference championship.
Tulane is irrelevant--nobody cares about their conference championship and it's ultimately going to go against TCU.
TCU had a weak nonconference schedule
They struggled in multiple games this year and are lucky they don't have 2 or 3 losses. They are not going to be rewarded for these squeakers against solid but what most will consider nationally to be average teams.
The playoffs are going to have the usual suspects---Michigan Ohio State, Georgia and Alabama.
Rankings are based off of actual results, not hypotheticals. TCU has the 9th toughest schedule in the country. I’ll be back here tomorrow to tell you I told you so when they get in.

No way TCU gets left out for Alabama. Tide has one loss too many. Close games but so was the one TCU lost today. To a top 10 team. Bama lost to 9-4 LSU.

Might have been the goal line play that was practiced and practiced. But, yes, Duggan on a qb sneak w a big back pushing him in would have seemed to work better.

TCU is definitely in the CFP. There are only 2 undefeated and two one loss teams. No way they drop below their current ranking at 3. OSU backs in because they only have 1 loss. TCU would’ve had to get blown out by KSU to risk missing the playoffs.

With that being said, who gives a flying fvck if TCU makes it in? Are we supposed to start chanting "BIG 12! BIG 12! BIG 12!" and aggie it up with our love of a conference that we are abandoning? Fvck TCU. But for the stupidity of play calling we should have beat the pants off them.

To try to answer your question (I'm probably wasting my time, however). The reason is that was what the discussion initially was about--TCU and the playoffs and it digressed into what you referred to as, "the dungeon." (whatever that is)
