I have watched tens of cotton bowl preview videos the last few days. 98% of them gush over OSU. That conversation centers on their WR unit (understandable) and Howard (no better than Ewers). They then move to the OSU DL and our run game vs ASU.

The matchup they are not discussing is OSUs OL vs our DL. By all accounts, OSU OL is not great with one player that could potentially go pro. Their run game has been bad all year, before getting jump started by a move to counter plays over zone schemes in the playoffs. The numbers show OSU went from 10% counter during the season to 50% counter in playoffs. A huge move that is now on film.

If we are ready for counter, and get after Howard, this game is gonna be a classic. The pundits assume 1) OSU is gonna score 35 and 2) Texas won’t keep up vs this OSU defense. I don’t think that is how this plays out. Texas is bringing the best front seven OSU has seen all season. Michigan is the second best from a talent perspective. I think our defense gets all over them and we see a game script that has both teams playing around that 24 mark late.
