Wick is getting hammered in the TTFTW thread about his recruiting.
I always thought he was prized as a "developer" of talent. A Mad Scientist, he'd take 2 & 3 star guys and turn them into All B12. Maybe even an occasional D-lineman conversion. I don't remember him being a big recruiter. Perhaps many thought his recruiting suffered from being at Okie State.
I'm thinking that everyone here thought that since he was coming to Texas, somehow recruits would realize he's awesome at developing talent, and he wouldn't be "hampered" as it might have been to recruit to Okie State.
