DIdn't see this posted, but Bob Huggins fired LONG TIME assistant, Larry Harrison. Harrison had been at West Virginny for 16 seasons with Huggins, and for 8 seasons prior to that in Cincinatti. "I want to thank Larry for his service to West Virginia basketball, and wish him well in his future endeavors," said Huggins.
Man, that is about as ice cold a farewell as you could get from a guy who was your boss for almost a quarter century. First of all, it's an odd time, Chris Beard story aside, to part ways with an assistant. Secondly, the tone sounds like Huggins walked in on Harrison with his girl....just an odd kind of "don't let the door hit ya on the way out" sort of farewell. Was this a case of insubordination? What gives? Anyone know?
