I’m for guys being able to transfer, but there should be some restrictions. This free for all every year I don’t know about thatThis free transfer rule needs to stop.
If he’s already put it out there to teammates, then you tell him thanks for the effort while you were here but we’re going forward with the guys that are gonna be with us long term. No Kansas, no bowl, just bye.Interesting part is if Ku wins tonight do you play him next week?
I don’t think this is about NIL money. There are only a few places that could even come close to what Texas can in NIL money. This is the new trend with NIL and the transfer portal. He and his handlers are doing this to try and leverage more NIL money for next season. Rumors are that he did the same thing last season but it was done more behind the scenes. What I don’t like about it this time is he’s doing it while the season is still not finished. That’s BS. He can leave for all I care. There’s plenty other receivers on our roster, through recruiting and the transfer portal to replace his production. If this is all true he’s a selfish SOB who will have serious red flags raised about him by NFL scouts. NFL teams value character and unselfishness just as much as physical talent.
He definitely isn’t a culture fit anymore. Sure as hell ain’t no Bijan or Roschon in terms of character and leadership.
I would probably agree. If he’s already put it out there to teammates, then you tell him thanks for the effort while you were here but we’re going forward with the guys that are gonna be with us long term. No Kansas, no bowl, just bye.
I do believe it is much to do with NIL. He knows our boosters have big pockets and he wants to tap into that deep well one more time. It’s not about whether our boosters are capable of paying him another bag. Of course we can afford it. The question is whether we should give him another bag. I don’t think our NIL sources are going to receive his new demands too kindly. They probably told him no already because they took care of him last year. Now he’s pissed and trying to gain leverage by insinuating that he’s going to transfer. He can leave. We don’t need him and after this BS we don’t want him. You’re either all in or you’re not. This is the type of entitlement issue that destroyed our locker room during the Strong and Herman years. If I’m Sark, I have an immediate sit down with him and have him come clean on what he’s doing. If he’s truly considering going into the portal, tell him he’s no longer on the team.I don’t think this is about NIL money. There are only a few places that could even come close to what Texas can in NIL money.
What you outline is exactly why I don’t think it’s about NIL. There are very few schools that can match what Texas does in NIL. Even if you want to get out of Texas you want to keep them interested to drive up the price on everyone else. Handling it the way he’s handing it he’s more than likely going to burn that bridge as you said… if your trying to max out your value you want Texas in the game.I do believe it is much to do with NIL. It’s definitely not a football issue. He’s our WR1 and he’s targeted more than anyone on the team. It’s all about the money.
Ok you’re confusing me. Is it your opinion that this is about NIL or something else? Your response first says it’s not about NIL and then you end it by saying it is NIL.What you outline is exactly why I don’t think it’s about NIL. I don’t think it’s about NIL. If he wants more NIL he wouldn’t risk burning the bridge with Texas like he appears to be doing.Ok you’re confusing me. Is it your opinion that this is about NIL or something else? Your response first says it’s not about NIL and then you end it by saying it is NIL.
thanks for clarifying. But I disagree 100%. So instead of burning bridges with boosters he would rather burn bridges with teammates and coaches. Makes no sense.I don’t think it’s about NIL. If he wants more NIL he wouldn’t risk burning the bridge with Texas like he appears to be doing.
That’s why it’s not about NIL. If it was he would of handled it like he did last year quietly behind the scenes. He’s leaving UT because he’s butt hurt and thinks the grass is greenerthanks for clarifying. But I disagree 100%. What’s he butt hurt about? That’s why it’s not about NIL. If it was he would of handled it like he did last year quietly behind the scenes. He’s leaving UT because he’s butt hurt and thinks the grass is greener
What is there to be butthurt about? We force fed him the ball all year long even though we shouldn’t have. That’s why it’s not about NIL. If it was he would of handled it like he did last year quietly behind the scenes. He’s leaving UT because he’s butt hurt and thinks the grass is greener
ever wonder if maybe sark forced fed him TOO keep him happy? Always blew my mind why Ewers rarley looks to Sanders or Whitt ( mainly whitt)What is there to be butthurt about? We force fed him the ball all year long even though we shouldn’t have.
Supposedly doesn’t feel like he’s put up the numbers he should because Quinn hasn’t gotten him the ball, and there have been folks basing him on social media. Quinn has missed some throws no question. He’s also dropped some balls. What’s he butt hurt about?
LOL! If that’s why he’s entering the portal then he’s definitely one entitled little mofo. Hope he goes. I don’t want to see him wearing our uniform again. Of course, that’s only if this is all true.Supposedly doesn’t feel like he’s put up the numbers he should because Quinn hasn’t gotten him the ball, and there have been folks basing him on social media. Yeah who knows. I think there is probably some truth to it. Who knows if it’s all true.LOL! If that’s why he’s entering the portal then he’s definitely one entitled little mofo. Hope he goes. I don’t want to see him wearing our uniform again. Of course, that’s only if this is all true.
I agree. But with no rules in place it’s pretty much the Wild West wIth NIL. Basically, every player is a free agent after every season. It doesn’t matter and we shouldn’t take it personal. As. I said in the other thread, it is the new way and a new era in college football with the transfer portal. Texas will lose some and win some. But, Texas will benefit way more than the other way around. I am sure Wyoming and Louisaiana didn’t like losing Neyor or DTD
That’s the thing I think will change I think some of these NIL deals are going to contain language that discourages players from entering the portal.I agree. But with no rules in place it’s pretty much the Wild West wIth NIL. Basically, every player is a free agent after every season.
I just told him to get the fvck out of Austin and don't bother coming back. Told him to go get ass pegged in souther cal.Supposedly doesn’t feel like he’s put up the numbers he should because Quinn hasn’t gotten him the ball, and there have been folks basing him on social media. Quinn has missed some throws no question. He’s also dropped some balls.
With X being Ewers' roommate, he probably felt obligated to force him the ball to avoid any drama at home. Can you just imagine their pillow talk conversations?Could be addition by subtraction. Force Ewers to go through his reads instead of trying to force the ball to Worthy. I would like to see what happens in the bowl game.
