If you missed the video Dr. Slaughter and I did last week talking Sinus & Snoring Specialists, here it is...

Big takeaways?...Get rid of those allergies. I did it. Dr. Slaughter tells his story about how he did it. To be able to enjoy the Austin area without those damn allergies has been so cool for me.

Oh, and his message at the end is worth typing 1000 times...DON'T TAPE YOUR MOUTH SHUT. Please. Get it taken care of the right way. Check out S & S.

Tell 'em you heard about it on OB or mention my name. Thank y'all.

Now, should there be a Spring Game?....

At first, I couldn't believe it was a discussion. Then the voice of reason showed up with a simple message. Coaches know best. Specifically THIS one does. Texas fans, he just got you to 2 straight Final Fours and he's about to deliver The Arch Years. And you have to believe he knows his team and what is best. This is a new college football with a wild new schedule. It feels like the season ended like 15 minutes ago, and they are already back in the weight room with Becton? What? So these coaches know what the players need more than we do. But you've got to give the fans something. More on that in a second.

I think a big issue here is just the words "Spring Game" and what it means to fans, coaches, etc. I think it kind of excites fans cause it's a taste of football in April. I get that. I got excited for a UFL promo the other day cause...it's football. Even though it's a lower level and all that. In the case of Spring games, it's a glorified practice, but it's football. And it's YOUR team. It's always cool to see the unis in the Spring and get the juices flowing. But coaches and players seem to look at it differently. They are at the end of Spring ball and just want to get away.

So what do you do? Simple. You've got to give them something. Why? Two reasons. You're Texas and he's Arch.

Sometimes Texas fans brag about how they are something or have something nobody else does, and it feels a little heavy-handed. But not here. I think this is a great opportunity to "Be Texas" like I always say and show the world this most unique talent that we will never see again. Arch Manning happens once. Ever. There's never been one of these. And you have him. Let the fans experience him a little, and make sure there are cameras there.

What would I do? It's easy. Call it an "Open Practice" if "Spring Game" is not appealing. but just run through some stuff in pads. Let Arch throw to the WRs a bit. Run a little red zone and score a TD. You know the fans will love that. Then, have a signing event. Fans stand in line to get multiple signatures. Arch is at the end of the table of players. You can't just get Arch's signature. You have to get everybody's. So it's a team thing, but you let them see and talk to Arch as well. Hell, make 'em donate to the collective to stand in line if you can. They'll pay it. Or donate money to the children's hospital that Arch is associated with. You donate _______ to the kids, you get a pic with Arch or whatever. But the key is that local TV and probably ESPN will show up and film it. Then on an otherwise quiet April Saturday, you know what the college football world sees? You. Texas. Arch flashing that smile and a hook 'em will dwarf anything the Bulldogs, Buckeyes, Sooners, or Aggies can think up. And your fans walk out of DKR with such a shot of energy, they might actually buy tickets to the Sam Houston State game in September.

You don't buy a Lambo to keep it in your garage and have people not see it. And you don't get Arch Manning to have an under the radar Spring where you fail to remind the rest of the SEC, The Big 10, and all of college football what they are missing out on. Arch is a once in a lifetime sword, and you get to swing it, Texas. Pull it out of the sheath in April, let the Texas sun hit it just right, and give 'em all a taste of what it will be like when Sark swings that sword for real in Columbus.
