Travis Hunter; would you want him here? Fabulous talent, both offensively and defensively. But would he ruin the culture Sark has perfected? I know it is unlikely, but if Sanders took the FSU job and his son went NFL, would Hunter perhaps test the NIL market in portal? We would probably be outbid, just because we don't want one player paid way more than the rest of the team. But what if he wanted to come here to play with Arch? An example below is an amazing interception by Hunter, then after the play they get four (4), yes 4, unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.

The night was black as coal when 58 people showed up to their hallowed ground, preparing a tradition that dated back to 1907. Over 1 million pounds of logs were stacked and ready to burn when the horrific sound of creaking began. Then, it happened: what sounded like a gunshot, the middle structure of the bonfire snapped in half, collapsing within seconds. The ensuing dust and debris field darkened the lights illuminating the once structure. Cadets, knowing they would face certain combat after graduation, stood frozen at the scene. Many of those who heard the warning screams survived; those on the stack who screamed the warnings didn’t survive. The horror played out, in real time, and people from all over Texas traveled to the campus of Texas A&M to help. Texas ended up canceling the Hex rally that year, and opted for a unity event. The UT Tower was darkened out of respect for those whom had been lost. During halftime, the Texas Band would play “Amazing Grace” and “TAPS”.

Tonight, at 2:42 AM, will mark 25 years since 12 Aggies took their last breath.

Jaydon Blue / Game Thoughts

I thought our game was definitely one I’d take in a heartbeat given the result. Double digit win. On the road. Rivalry game. Opponent who beat the fake UT too.

Defense was nails. Jahdae Barron was nails. Collins has his best game of his career here.
Our entire D was superb!

Offensively, we left some room for improvement. I think Quinn made some really good throws. He also made not so good ones and also stepped into sacks and literally tripped himself for one sack. Offense wasn’t as bad as it seemed. Non-PI call plus victory formation at 2min with ball around Arky 20 is more like a 20-point win. For those glass half empty people - you further validate why I have glass half full people in my life.

Here’s the topic I really want to stress: Jaydon Blue.

If that game. If that 4th quarter….particularly the drive we responded to their FG with our TD isn’t convincing that he has far more talent than any healthy RB we have I just don’t know what to say. I highly encourage a rewatch of that drive. He extended multiple runs…with multiple missed tackles, and extra yards. The screen play.
The run to the outside he broke (yes he fumbled but that was a more forgivable…blind, arm hammer strip one than the ones from the past).

Put it this way: if Blue wasn’t our feature that drive, I don’t see us marching down and essentially crushing Arky’s momentum and essentially sealing the game. That drive for me was the BLUE drive and that drive has the narrative on this game being far more glass full than empty, no matter which take you previously had.

If we want to help improve our offense for the last 1/3rd of this season, Blue needs to be our feature back. It’s really that simple.

John Oliver thinks Dems should double down on the trans issue

Talk about out of touch. Deep down he has to realize that the “there are no studies showing a problem” is a losing argument for anyone who has ever watched sports.

I also like his crack about “the creepy assistant volleyball coach” liking posts on instagram, given his side is literally fine with dudes showering with girls.

POLL: If God made this offer, would you have accepted it? - Pisser related

Would you have accepted the offer below?

  • Of course, and with gratitude!

  • No, I prefer to focus on what I don't have.

Results are only viewable after voting.

10 games into the 2021 season we were 4-6 and had just lost to Kansas at home.

If God posted a poll that night stating:

Through the first 10 games of your inaugural season in the SEC, you will have a 9-1 record, you will be tied for 1st place, and you will be ranked #3 in the AP poll. But for this to transpire you must commit to coming from a place of gratitude during those 10 games and be joyous of the outcomes no matter how they are earned. Your challenge will be to enjoy what you have, and not focus on what you don't have. If 95% of this board makes this commitment, I will grant you the outcome above.

How would you vote?

The problem on offense

On our last ten first ten plays in the game, we netted a total of zero yards.

That won’t cut it.

The problem is we can’t run well, and we don’t scare anyone deep. So they stack the box and dare us to attack deep.

This team WILL NOT win a playoff game or mayhe even make the playoff if we can’t open it up. This is the problem with dink and dunk…they can attack it if they don’t have any fear of you going over the top.

A good defense is going to shut the offense down.

Whatever that means for the qb position I don’t know. Either Sark has to make a change…he has to get Quinn to start attacking deep more…or we will be in the Gator Bowl.

Dune TV Series this fall Dune : Prophecy

posted about it in the movie thread but figured it could get its own thread for those didn't know about it.

WBB: #4 Texas @ DePaul, Sunday (11/17), 6:30 (FS2)

The Longhorns (2-0) have their 1st road game of the season, traveling to Chicago to face the DePaul Blue Demons (2-1) Sunday evening. DePaul HC Doug Bruno suffered a 'medical incident' in September and is on indefinite leave. Associate HC Jill Pizzotti assumed the role of interim HC. Bruno, 73, has led the DePaul program for 39 seasons and made 26 NCAA tournaments (4 Sweet 16s) on the way to 786 wins. You could call him the anti-Vic when it comes to basketball philosophy - DePaul has been ranked in the Top 10 nationally in scoring every season since 2013.

Vic reached out to Bruno 2 years ago and asked him if he would bring his Blue Demon team to Austin for a last minute exhibition to raise funds for the Uvalde CISD Moving Forward Foundation. DePaul took a huge hit after that season when LSU swooped in with a big bag of cash and snagged sophomore F Aneesah Morrow, the previous season's National FOTY. Morrow, LSU G Flaujae Johnson and Madison Booker tied for preseason SEC Player of the Year voting this season.

After being held out last game, will Madison Booker play tonight? Indications were that she did not play last game largely for cautionary reasons rather than the severity of the hamstring injury.
