anyone looking for a new Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep or Ram vehicle?

A Longhorn grad I knew in college posted this to his personal FB page. Thought I'd share. Justin, if you are on here, hope its okay I shared this.

As most of you know, Kristin and I own a Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep and Ram dealership in St. Louis. We are overstocked with new vehicle inventory right now and I'd like to get it down by 150 vehicles. So, if you or anyone you know are currently in the market for a new vehicle, I have a great deal for you. For the next 60 days, I'm offering to sell all of my new vehicles (except the Dodge Demon) at my cost. I'll make the process fast, easy and fun! Do you live outside of St. Louis? I'll drive the vehicle to you or have it shipped depending on where you live. You can view our inventory at www.314allstar.com. If interested, you can contact me directly at justin.akin@314allstar.com.

*** Astros-Blue Jays Series Thread ***

Well, we are fresh off an extremely frustrating/disappointing start to the season which saw us tied or leading in the 6th inning of all 4 games and eventually losing all 4 games for our first 0-4 start since 2011 and first time suffering a season opening 4-game sweep since 1978. While there were certainly some positives (strong starts to season from the rotation, especially Javier, Brown, and France) as well as encouraging starts from Pena, Diaz, and Altuve, the negatives certainly outweighed them. Ultimately, I believe the bullpen will sort itself out and the lineup will be just fine (assuming we figure out 1B) and 4 games is an extremely small sample by baseball standards.

That said, it’s time to move on. There is still plenty of time for this team to right the ship and get moving in the right direction. The best team in modern history is widely considered to be the 1998 Yankees. 114 wins in the regular season followed and a World Series. That team started the season 1-4 and were outscored by 21 runs in that stretch. It happens and great teams figure it out. We’ll find out soon enough if this team is still great.

Moving on to the Blue Jays. They opened the season with a 4-game split in Tampa in which none of the 4 games were competitive. A couple of big wins and a couple of big losses. We know this Jays team is as deep and talented as just about any in MLB so the Stros will get a chance real fast to prove the opening series was a fluke.

LBJ & Witt: Poster Boys for NOT Coming Back

The disastrous seasons these guys have had really hurt our team going forward. Witt did get drafted and LBJ likely would have. After tossing turds for 2024 they’re stock is plummeting. Like close to being de-listed if not already there.

Our genius HC hiring himself as PC didn’t help with “development ,” which has been non-existent.

Any player thinking that another year with Pearce will help his draft stock probably needs to be checked for CTE. If he needs more time then portal cuz he ain’t gonna get better here under this regime.

Anywho this is not what we want to be famous for bro. Very douche achievement.

Max has premiered the trailer for the second season of its original crime drama series “Tokyo Vice” which returns to the streamer on February 8th.

Loosely inspired by American journalist Jake Adelstein’s first-hand account of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police beat, the second season of the series takes us deeper into the city’s criminal underworld.

Missouri-born American journalist Adelstein (Ansel Elgort) comes to realize that his life, and the lives of those close to him, are in terrible danger.

J.T. Rogers created and writes the series. It also stars Ken Watanabe as detective Hiroto Katagiri, Rinko Kikuchi, Rachel Keller, Show Kasamatsu, Ayumi Ito, and new series regulars Yosuke Kubozuka and Miki Maya.

Rogers and Alan Poul executive produce with Alex Boden, Josef Kubota Wladyka, Brad Caleb Kane, Adam Stein, Ken Watanabe, Emily Gerson Saines, Ansel Elgort, Jake Adelstein, Kayo Washio, Destin Daniel Cretton, John Lesher and Michael Mann.

The new season will launch with two episodes and one episode will debut every subsequent week for eight weeks.

OT: Contractor for Water Damage

We recently bought and installed new kitchen appliances. Unfortunately, our dishwasher had a factory defect and leaked water resulting in some minor water damage.

The insurance company for GE Appliances handling the damage claim is based in NC and doesn't have any good recommendations for Texas.

Any of our fellow OB's used a contractor locally in the Austin area that handles water damage and the associated repairs? We are located in Buda.

We have friends in our community who had an a/c leak and a toilet tank crack a few days apart. They are with USAA and recommended a company called Austin Hi Tech Restoration.

Ours is mainly to clean up the mold on the floor, pull and replace the drywall behind the dishwasher, and replace the cabinet to the right of the dishwasher.

Thanks in advance!

Liberals and kids

They love to kill them in utero and if they are born to a f*cked up mom doing meth.... well that's ok too.

Hiding behind the excuse many are just taking meds to get off of drugs is quite funny though. It's not hard to show you are on prescription meds.

"For years, new mothers taking medication to treat addiction, such as methadone and Suboxone, have been reported to DCF under a legal mandate in Massachusetts that medical professionals report suspected child neglect if a baby is born exposed to an “addictive drug.”

The existence of a report does not guarantee the state will seek to remove the infant from the mother’s care. But it can spur lengthy investigations, followed by months of visits from child welfare officials."

Ummmmm yeah, if you are on Methadone from being a crack head or heroine addict, seems like a good idea to keep an eye on you for some months to make sure you aren't putting the baby in danger.

“Those structural policies may not be written in a way that screams racism, but if you dig down deep,” it creates inequities, said Allison Bryant, associate chief health equity officer at Mass General Brigham.

Equity officer. smmfh. Racist to report a meth head is having a baby.

The current law, she said, has multiple prongs: It requires that a mandated reporter file a report if a child has a “physical dependence upon an addictive drug at birth,” but a health care provider must also have a “reasonable cause to believe” that a child is suffering some type of physical or emotional injury because they’ve been born exposed to a drug.

“Both of those things have to be true,” Wakeman said, adding that health care providers, in interpreting the law, have previously focused exclusively on whether babies are born with a drug in their system.

yes a child is suffering issues if the mom is or was a crackhead and it seems reasonable to keep any eye on that.

WR Daylan McCutcheon recaps recent UT practice visit, says Texas checks many boxes already

IMG_6634.jpg

Wide receiver Daylan McCutcheon has a slate of official visits scheduled for the summer that will go a long way toward determining his college destination. Before embarking on those trips, McCutcheon is taking some spring unofficial visits. He’ll be at Florida State this weekend and last Friday was in Austin to take in a Texas Longhorns practice.

McCutcheon said he had a good experience in Austin.

“Mainly what stood out was coach (Chris) Jackson in the receiver room, how he was able to control the environment, teach the receivers, especially the new transfers and freshman who enrolled early,” McCutcheon said. “How he coached them on and off the field impressed me. Seeing Isaiah Bond, a veteran receiver from ‘Bama, how mature he is in the room and then show that on the field. And Johntay (Cook), a wide receiver I trained with, it was good to see him out there again.”

Jackson, who has been in Austin for only one season, turned in tremendously successful results in coaching up a receiving corps that could see two first-round NFL Draft picks and possibly three drafted players overall. McCutcheon said he likes Jackson’s no-nonsense approach to coaching.

“He has energy, but he’s more of a business style,” McCutcheon said. “It’s a just get it done type of deal.”

After his Florida State visit this weekend, McCutcheon is considering adding an SMU official visit for the weekend of May 10. He already has official visits locked in with Ohio State (May 31), USC (June 7), Texas (June 14) and Florida State (June 21). Those schools that will get official visits are the primary focus of his recruitment.

“There are still some schools hanging around, but for the most part those are the ones that I’m on,” McCutcheon said.

Out of Lucas Lovejoy, McCutcheon is holding close to 100 scholarship offers. Narrowing his focus down to a handful of schools has been a chore in itself. Ultimately picking one school will be no easy task, but McCutcheon said he’ll take a methodical approach.

“I’m going to have to sit down, write on a whiteboard what I have at each college, what I want in a college. Then list the colleges, what they have to offer and what I can accomplish there,” he said. “I have to be able to do that and at the end of the day find a fit.”

The football aspect of his decision will obviously play a key role, but McCutcheon will also consider each school’s academic reputation.

“Obviously (I want) a place that can support me academically, a place I know I can get development,” he said. “I want to go into a school to start, but if not start, have a player above me that is going to the league that I can learn from. And also a family fit, being able to feel at home.”

Texas already checks many of those necessary boxes, McCutcheon said.

“They definitely have the development portion of coach Jackson, how he coaches receivers, teaches them up on route running and releases. That definitely crosses out a portion, and coach Jackson’s personality fits me as a person,” McCutcheon said.

McCutcheon is a Rivals100 member, checking in at No. 71 on the Rivals100.
