WBB: #11 Texas @ Okie State, Saturday (1/20), 2:00 - ESPN+

The Longhorns (17-2, 4-2) and the Cowgirls (11-6, 4-2) face off today in Stillwater. OSU head coach Jacie Hoyt has a balanced offensive attack with 5 players averaging 10+ ppg, led by freshman guard Stailee Heard (14.7). Texas should not take this team lightly especially on the road, Longhorns lost the road game there 86-82 last season. They attempt a lot of 3s (400) and hit 32.3% of them.

There will be a familiar face on the Okie Lite bench in assistant coach Kelby Jones. He was a grad assistant and then on the support staff under Karen Aston.

OT: Heart worm treatment--dogs

Reaching out to fellow OBers... OBers are best at football, and damn sure are excellent with dog love / information

I am leaning to adopt a dog who has been diagnosed with heart worms. He is currently on the 30 day Doxycycline treatment prior to treatment #1 of 3 treatments of
an injectable drug, melarsomine (Immiticide®). Quick update: there needs to be 30 day low inactivity (rest) period between dose #1 and dose #2 and #3. ( #2 and #3 are given back to back in 24 hours) and followed by another 30 day inactive (rest) period.

We are talking about 60 days of rest. Problem is the heart worms die and decomposed heart worms are in the blood stream and often move to the lungs. Rest is advocated to avoid a pulmonary embolism which is often fatal.

The dog we are looking to adopt is a Husky...and energetic. He is with our rescue organization, I walk him daily and we had cuddle time with the cold weather recently. He has crawled into our hearts. The treatments are scheduled and paid for ( thanks to some generous donors). We have excellent vet care arranged

I am willing to make the commitment of crate rest which with a Husky will involve listening to him cry, howl.

Seeking input and guidance from those who have gone through this. We have another active dog.

Thanks for OBers inputs on my inquiry about Huskies recently.

Thanks in advance

Workout tracking app recommendations

I’m getting tired of carrying a physical log book to the gym. I tied boss. I’m looking for a decent app that doesn’t charge an annual membership fee. I feel like most apps these days have a reoccurring fee associated with them. I just need something that I can track progress in without having to carry my gallon of water, phone, journal and pen from station to station. I don’t need a calorie or macronutrient counter.

Any thoughts?

And, no, I didn’t follow the rules because every time I post a fit chick, every fat chimes in with “tHaTs A dUdE” 😂

Four Texas 1st Round Draft Choices?

Latest from Mel Kiper and ESPN's Jordan Reid

19. T'Vondre Sweat, DT, Texas

6-4, 362 pounds | Previously: 21

I have been impressed with Sweat's improvement this season, as he has shown he's more than a plugger along the interior of the defensive line. He has put some excellent pass-rush moves on tape, and he's a disruptive force in run and pass situations. He has three sacks this season, and he affects the pocket in so many ways. Sweat is very quick for his size. He dominates offensive linemen at the point of attack; it's impossible for one player to move him off his spot.

Some will question the value of a 360-pound defensive tackle in the first round, but I just really like the player and think he could help an NFL defense in any situation.

20. Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas

6-1, 172 pounds | Previously: 17

Worthy is an electrifying player with the ball in his hands. His quickness and movement in space reminds me a little bit of Marquise "Hollywood" Brown, who starred at Oklahoma and was a first-round pick in 2019. Worthy is tall but very thin. He can fly by cornerbacks on vertical routes and take the top off the defense. He had 60 catches for 760 yards and nine scores last season and has 73 catches for 969 yards and five touchdowns this season.

His biggest problem last season? Catching the ball. He had 10 drops in 2022 -- he also dealt with a hand injury, to be fair -- but he has been more consistent this season, with five on 114 targets. Worthy also could be a dynamic punt returner at the next level.

26. Houston Texans (via CLE)

Byron Murphy II, DT, Texas

Yes, the Texans' defense has already shown promise in its first year under DeMeco Ryans, but it could go to another level if Houston adds a disruptive defensive tackle this offseason. A versatile 3-technique, Murphy broke out in his first season as a starter, posting a 12.8% pressure rate and five sacks on the interior. He's also able to penetrate the first level against the run and make plays in the backfield (11 run stops).

29. Buffalo Bills

Adonai Mitchell, WR, Texas

Ed Oliver is currently the only Bills defensive tackle under contract next season, but it's too early for Texas' T'Vondre Sweat, Michigan's Kris Jenkins or Miami's Leonard Taylor III. The Bills also have a looming decision on free agent Gabe Davis, and while the Josh Allen-Stefon Diggs connection was inconsistent this season, struggles at No. 2 receiver definitely played a part in that. Adding Mitchell, who has impressive speed and sure hands, would give the Bills a different type of target. The most impressive Mitchell metric: 81.8% of his catches went for either a first down or a touchdown this season, second best among receivers with 50-plus catches in the FBS.

Jabbar Muhammad post-visit update

I was able to catch up with former Washington cornerback Jabbar Muhammad for a quick update on his UT visit.

Muhammad said things went really well and he loved the coaches, hanging with the team, the culture of the program and the resources that Texas can provide. Of course, his cousin Manny Muhammad and others he knows in the UT program were on him non-stop. Jabbar said while it would be nice to play with his cousin, he's also looking at this as a business decision since he has only one year left so he has to do what's best for his future.

He's flying to Alabama today for a visit. He'll then return home to Seattle to catch his breath (he hasn't been home since the national championship game) and he'll visit Oregon sometime next week. From there, he'll make a pretty quick decision and enroll at the school of his choice for the spring.

Tough one to handicap right now and I really don't think Muhammad himself even knows what he wants to do until he sees what Bama and Oregon have to offer.
