Projections for many in the 2nd and 3rd

I just checked a couple of mocks and other various rankings. Looks like all the major players coming out from Texas, including if JT comes out, are projecting in the 2nd and/or early 3rd. I saw Murphy top of the 3rd to Pittsburgh.

I don't care all that much about the projections on the "who" to which team. But they usually align the particular round for each player. Albeit strange events like Richardson last season.

Udub has 3 or 4 of the guys Texas just played projected for the first.

Did spot Dallas taking the RB from Michigan in the 2nd round. Woot!

Although both are projected for the first round, there seems to be more love for Drake Maye than Penix. I think it's due to Penix's injury history and age. I'd take Penix all day every day. Been saying that all season.

Little tired of the arrogant assumption that Texas had much better players than UW, and that the coaching staff was terrible

It's been a consistent theme since the game for people to come on here and rag on Sark, PK, or whoever that somehow we lost to an inferior team. It's the height of arrogance. I know, it's what we do...but it is dumb and it shows ignorance of the game and the players.

First off, Washington went undefeated, in a better conference than we played in this year. They were ranked higher all season. Their quarterback is like 30 years old, and he was the Heisman runner-up. Their best WR is currently listed as the #6 pick on Kiper's big board, and their LG is 14th.

They led the country in pass offense in the regular season.

This was NOT Texas Tech.

We made some mistakes...had ragged play on the OL and at QB early. Had two costly fumbles. Couldn't get pressure at all. And yet we were at the 15 yard line with a chance to win at the end of the game. It was a tightly contested game between two evenly matched teams. If Texas and UW played 10 times, it's very likely each team would win 5.

Two years off of 5-7 and giving up Kansas' first road win since like 1905, the team went 12-1, won the Big 12 handily, went to the playoff, and played down to the wire with the #2 team. And yet there are posts demanding coaching staff changes and saying Sark is not it? Some of y'all need to take a breath.

I am still a little disappointed with the outcome. But I am thrilled at where we are and where this program is headed. It beats the HELL out of losing five in a row and not making a bowl game.

Jalen Green

Curious how the Rockets fans on this board feel about him. He seems to be teetering on hust territory but I can’t ever watch the rockets in Austin so I am judging it based off the box scores. Anyone who watched the games have a different opinion? I know he is still technically young but something seems to be missing from his game.

Liberal Leadership

Or maybe its black liberal leadership. In a nutshell....

Her "blessings" that she is helping herself to, come from God.

Granted she's no Latoya Cantrell or Corine Brown, but she is off to a good start.

(Updated 12/26/23)--Nic Scourton In The Portal--Purdue Sophomore

Originally from Bryan, if you watched the Michigan game the other night, he dominated the Michigan O-Line. He has 7 sacks on the season, I don't see him going back to Purdue.

The Sooner We Come to Terms that Sark is On Pace to Become the GOAT Recruiter in Texas History…

…the more we can appreciate the fact that he’s building a talent monster that rivals any the 40 Acres has ever seen. I realize that, for many long-time OB’s, it’s heresy to even suggest that Sark is anywhere close to Mack’s level as a recruiter. However, if (and I realize it’s a big IF), but if Dominick McKinley flips to the good guys and signs with Texas Wednesday (as Fong hinted tonight could happen), and if the currently committed 5-star players all sign, Sark will have the following skins on the recruiting wall:

- This year’s class would include five 5-star players in the composite rankings (Colin Simmons, Ryan Wingo, Brandon Baker, Dominick McKinley, Xavier Filsaime). In Mack’s 16 classes as the Texas head coach, he only pulled that feat off twice - 2002 (Vincent Young, Rodrique Wright, Justin Blalock, Marquis Johnson, Bryan Pickryl) and 2010 (Jackson Jeffcoat, Jordan Hicks, Mike Davis, Reggie Wilson, Darius White).

- Not even counting signing Quinn Ewers (the #1 overall player in the 2021 composite rankings) from the portal, Sark will have signed 11 composite five-star players in his first three full recruiting classes (2022 - DJ Campbell, Kelvin Banks; 2023 - Arch Manning, Anthony Hill, CJ Baxter, Johntay Cook; 2024 - the five players I mentioned previously).

First, the unsurprising (and pathetic) stat: This would mean that, in just his first three full classes, Sark will have signed more composite 5-star players than Texas signed in the previous 10 classes COMBINED under Mack, Strong and Herman (2012 - Johnathan Gray, Malcom Brown; 2013 - Darius James; 2015 - Malik Jefferson; 2018 - Caden Stearn, BJ Foster; 2019 - Bru McCoy 😳, Jordan Whittington; 2020 - Bijan Robinson; 2021 - Ja’Tavion Sanders).

Next, the stat that really blew me away…this would also mean that Sark will have brought more composite five-star players to Texas than in any other three-year stretch in history (as Mack’s best three-year stretch - 2000-2002 - came one short of that figure with 10 composite 5-star players: 2000 - BJ Johnson, Chance Mock, Roy Williams, Sloan Thomas; 2001 - Cedric Benson; 2002 - the VY class I listed earlier that included five composite 5-stars).

Simply put, Sark and his staff came here to kick ass and chew gum, and they’ve been out of gum for a while now.

2025 Schedule

As most know, we have to play Michigan, UGA, and OU in 2024. Although all are tough, the rest of the schedule should be manageable, although a road game @ A&M may also be challenging.
However, in 2025, our schedule will probably be insane if we play the other half of the SEC slate, as we will then play Ohio State, Bama, LSU, OU, Ole Miss, Missou, and Tennessee. I'm looking forward to some big games, but not to this difficult of a schedule.
