Quick thought on NFL QBs

Watching Love tear up the Boys defense last night I was thinking.

We throw QBs into the fray right away…then they don’t do well and we throw them away.

But look at what happens when some of them are able to sit and learn a few years. Love, obviously, but guys like Romo did also. And so did Rodgers.

It’s not a guarantee obviously, but some guys benefit greatly by not playing for a few years, and learning how to read defenses and make the right play.

Just wondering if we are way too damn quick to toss guys out into the trash.

Another DL update

I'm told by a source close to the situation that Texas defensive line signee Melvin Hills is weighing his options a bit after the departure of Bo Davis.

Hills is a summer enrollee so it gives him some time but I'm told he and those close to him are having discussions on what his next move should be. He'll almost certainly wait to see who the DL hire will be before making any final decisions, but the idea of requesting out of his LOI is at least being considered. Hills and those close to him aren't sure if that's what he wants to do, or if a request like that would even be granted so things are very much up in the air.

I think in the end this one works out fine and Hills stays in the fold, but it's a situation we'll continue to monitor moving forward.

MLB Class of 2024 HOF ballot tracker

I saw a posting on the 2023 Rangers World Series champion thread where @A-Town 90 posted a video from x (formerly twitter) of a Boston “masshole” sportswriter and voter that said he didn’t vote for Adrian Beltre for the hall of fame. I went to the MLB website and found a tracker for next week’s announcement. It looks like both the Rangers and Astros (Billy Wagner) will have an alum of theirs make it in. This guy’s calculations have 5 players making it in (75% of votes needed to get in).

What are your thoughts on this class assuming it holds?
