He had to hold on that. If he takes off and he it is caught then Yordan doesn't score. If he takes off and it isn't caught Yordan still doesn't score because Schwarber would tap first then hold him.

I thought the same thing....confused the first baseman who had to tag him.
As it played out, I think this ends up being correct. Hard for me to blame either guy on first for their decisions anyway — unusual play that developed at warp speed.
