The puck drops in one hour. In the opening games of round robin play, the Canucks edged out the Swedes in OT. We beat the shit out of the Finns. Today, Finland beat Sweden in OT. Texas Hockey’s (Dallas Stars) Mikail Granlund scored the game winner in that one. That brings us to tonight. It’s Murica versus Canada in Montreal.
They’ll probably boo our anthem (it has to do with tariffs, not a thread to discuss that.) We’re facing their absolute best. They’re favored by 1.5 goals with an over/under of 6.5 goals. Dallas goalie Jake Oettinger (Otter) is a backup for the USA in case you non-hockey fans were wondering. The amount of talent on the ice for both nations at any time will be phenomenal. PS- if Russia hadn’t invaded Ukraine they’d probably get to play too. Lots of NHL guys from there are on break now due to Mr. Putin.
