Coming from behind and never being out of a game is what Texas baseball is all about. Never, ever count Texas out of a baseball game. We haven't had that kind of swagger in years. Glad to see that coach Pierce has brought back swagger and attitude to Texas baseball! How sweet it is to sweep the #1 ranked team in college baseball!
The four-game road series with Stanford looms large. A 2-2 split would be reasonably good. A 3-1 series win would be outstanding.
No way Reagan is better than Hamilton. Now he might get there, but Hamilton is a ++ glove, above average hitter with + speed. Reagan is a plus athlete but not on the level of Hamilton at this point in his career. But I do like that he is getting quality experience early.
Hamilton has great speed. He is inconsistent with his bat and can be wild with his throws. I was expecting him to make big improvements on both of those things this year and be the cornerstone of the team. Hopefully he'll be back next year and can have a great year to realize all of his potential before leaving for MLB.
I guess time will tell but my eye test says we disagree. He may fall apart but he has made some badass plays already.

Big 12 has 4 top 25 teams with Baylor and TCU barely in the top 25 and SEC has 11. Yeah, the Big 12 is better. You are right. I guess it is the Media Conspiracy/Bias that D1 Baseball and Baseball America have towards the SEC that so inflates those rankings.
More like 6th or 4th depending on which rankings you are using. But ok go with it. If you guys can beat Tech, the Big 12 should be easy pickings. Not another good team in the league.
Its not like a&m is good, so there's that. They aren't on Texas' level.
Easy MM. They can pitch with anybody. Now their bats haven't been all that by any means--- but they've put together a good rotation and solid bullpen. We play one game against them on April 2 and should not take them lightly. Regardless of all the ass whippings we've handed them over the last few years- especially last year-- this will be a tough game.

Just giving the delusional, brainwashed aggy a hard time. a&m has had some good baseball teams over the years, but the overall historical body of work solidly and lopsidedly favors Texas. There is no better all-time baseball program that has the credentials that Texas has.
Indeed. Texas has more wins at the CWS in the last five years than aggy has in the last 72.

You guys have history in both baseball and football. No one will dispute that. And it is a great history. The problem is with both football and baseball (less so with baseball) most of it was back when A&M was a military school and the other schools in the SWC/Big 12...were at a distinct competitive disadvantage. You guys had more money, more facilities, more everything. Heck, you should have won twice as many titles in both sports as you have with all the advantages you had. In baseball for many years, you guys had a really nice stadium while other schools played with a nice field and some bleachers. Since that has changed, statistics like those quoted above are vastly different. Right now, Texas Tech and TCU probably have the two best baseball programs in the state. Both our programs are behind them. In football, the Aggies have had the better football program 3 of the last 4 decades. You guys can dispute that, but those are the COLD HARD FACTS! You guys have had 1 great decade (2000's) and pretty much mediocre the other 3. We will see if Herman has turned the corner. He might have, but let's check back in mid-October for a better picture. History is nice, but today's fans in their 20's, 30's, and 40's think of Texas as not nearly as elite as their fanbase likes to think they are.

When you look at overall records, conference championships, head to head, etc. during the 1980's, 1990's, and this decade, the program in College Station is clearly better. You guys were WAY ahead of us in the 2000's. So, if you want to say because you guys have won 1 NC in the last 40 years, you have been better over the last 40 years, maybe so. But looking at overall body of work, the program in College Station was better the other 3 decades. Plus, we are now more profitable according to Forbes, have a much nicer stadium, and play in a far more prestigious league.
