Some way too early projections for the 2019 seasons. Interested to see what others think though. I fully recognize that I haven't provided any real commentary here. Most of it was just gut feel based on this past season and looking at the schedules for next year. Obviously coaching moves and other factors could change this:

Football

Louisiana Tech - W
LSU - L
Rice - W
Oklahoma State - W
West Virginia - W
Oklahoma - W
Kansas - W
TCU - W
Kansas State - W
Iowa State - L
Baylor - W
Texas Tech - W
Oklahoma (Big 12 Championship) - W

Bowl Game - Sugar Bowl (or playoff if things shake out right)

Baseball

40-15 Regular Season (we do about the same in conference but better in non-conference)

Regional Host/Super Regional Host with us advancing to CWS again but getting bumped. We do win one game in Omaha this time though.

I believe that we should be headed to the playoffs next year. Texas should once again, improve at every position on offense. I am concerned for the def line and linebacker position groups.

I really like our 2 deep at DE next year, we have Roach Graham Bimage and Daniel Carson. I think as far as 2 deep goes we are good. DT is hit or miss, we have some good young guys and some big solid guys like Wilborn and Chisholm but I'm betting on either Ojomo or Corburn winning the starting job. The biggest question is can they be ready to play against LSU. I think they will be fine going against the rest of the schedule.

Linebacker is actually looking much better now. We have Jeffery McCullough and Ayodele Adeoye that I think will take two of the starting spots along with Joseph Ossai. In my opinion that is a talented group but short on experience. Good news is we also have a bit of Juco help coming in with Cabeb Johnson who should be an impact player. Depth might be a concern but there are some talented guys in the program curious to see what happens with Cameron Townsend, seems he has been in the program forever.

These guys are good enough to take on anyone in the Big 12, the only team I worry about is LSU. I'm actually hoping we go 4-3 against them as I think our DT spot is a little better off than linebacker. depth.

I think you are starting to get Battered Longhorn Syndrome. Texas is going to be a better team next year. I think Ehlinger is going to get better and our depth next year is going to be really good at most positions. Even oline we should have enough depth to go legit 2 deep with both quality and experience. Every team has to replace people and I think we have some good talent at every position. I don't think anyone is saying we are going to beat Bama, but there isn't anyone on our schedule we can't beat. Thinking we can make the playoffs isn't out of no where, I fully expect Texas to win the Conference next year.

You crazy kids.......

Can we get through the bowl, recruiting and into spring before we start this??

I only say this because if uga hangs fifty on us... you can kiss a good recruiting class goodbye.

Not really. 90% of the class will be signed in 48 hours. It would be a killer for 2020, but 2019 will be done by then.

Agree that the majority of kids will sign in the early period this week. I disagree that it will affect recruiting in 2020. IF Georgia were to blow out Texas in the Sugar Bowl, by the time signing day comes around next year, it will be forgotten. If Texas continues to win, going forward, recruiting for Texas is going to be top 5 or 10 classes every year.

Texas got it's ass kicked in the cotton bowl by arkansas twice, once in 1999 and again in 2014. Neither had any affect on recruiting. Hell Texas won the MNC and that didn't really have a huge affect on recruiting. If I had to pick between a good start to the season and a good finish, I'd take the good start every time.

You are probably right. My main point was 2019 is what it is other than maybe a kid or 2.

If Texas beats Georgia it would really, really help your recruiting for 2020 imo. Would make the whole SEC-SEC thing ring hollow to some kids. If it is a decent showing and Georgia wins (highly probable), no real change. But if it were a total massacre (which I doubt), I think it would be a pretty big blow. Particularly if Bama crushes OU, which would not be surprising to me.

Anyway, 2019 is all but done. On to 2020. Really excited to see how state of Texas recruiting shakes up for 2020. If anyone really dominates the state next year, I expect them to go on a nice little run. Probably not a Mack run, but become the "it" offer in state.

If I were you I wouldn’t hold my breath.
