I recently caught up with 3-star Mississippi TE Chase Rogers to talk about his recruitment and how the Longhorns factor in. Rogers was a one-time Tennessee commit who has been high on Texas since an unofficial visit back in the fall, but still doesn't have an offer. He does, however, have an official visit set up for next month. If Texas wants him, he's in, but we'll have to see how things shake out at the position.
Here's what he had to say about the Longhorns:
In His Words: "I’ve been talking to Texas quite a bit. After the coaching change about two days later, Coach Meekins, the new tight ends coach at Texas texted me and told me to give him a call and he was telling me about how they think I’m their guy and I can come in a play early. They’re looking for a guy to split out not just be a traditional tight end and I think I fit that role well. The previous staff was going to offer me right before they left but they didn't want to not knowing if they were going to be there or not."
